Close to historic Richmond, a charming market town that sits at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, Treetops Hideouts is an idyllic escape that’s rich in indulgent luxury.

Here you’ll discover two sublime retreats – The Pines Treehouse and Treetops Cottage – that both promise to restore and revive weary souls, whilst showcasing magnificent views of the surrounding nature and wildlife.

Owners Lisa and Martin created their beloved retreat themselves, after falling in love with the beauty and tranquillity of this unique part of the world. An experienced builder, Martin expertly worked on The Pines Treehouse himself, complete with an enormous deck to make the most of that incredible natural scenery.

Ideal for a romantic couple, you’ll find the treehouse perfectly nestled under a huge, whispering oak that soars high above the meandering Sand Beck river below. You’ll feel as if you and your loved one are the only two people in the world as you light the ‘floating’ fireplace and snuggle on the sofa with a movie… or head out to that amazing deck and watch the stars from the comfort of your gently illuminated, wood-fired hot tub.

A two-metre round window means you’ll wake up to soul-soothing scenes of nature, gazed at from the comfort of your mezzanine kingsize bed. There’s a fully-fitted kitchen, too: equipped with everything from a full-size oven to a Nespresso coffee machine. You’ll also have a high-pressure, piping-hot thermostatic shower to freshen up in (though there’s an open-air shower on the deck, if you find you’re missing those views!)

The newly-converted Treetops Cottage, meanwhile, boasts a gorgeous south-facing patio that’s ideal for deer-watching, and a sophisticated interior space that’s ideal for stretching out, relaxing, and revelling in some much-needed downtime.

Also ideal for two, large picture windows mean bad weather won’t deter you from keeping an eye on those glorious valley views as you dine inside, with the BOSE Bluetooth speaker providing the perfect soundtrack. You’ll also have a 65” Smart TV to keep you entertained in the evenings along with a log burner to keep you cosy.

Head out to that patio to relax in the five-seater American-style hot tub, or prepare a sizzling sunset supper on the barbecue; devoured amongst heady mature plants and solar-powered mood lighting.

If it’s a special occasion, Lisa and Martin offer a celebration package that means you’ll arrive to a bottle of Bollinger champagne, a bouquet of fresh flowers, and a box of handmade chocolates – just ask. You could also book an in-retreat massage or facial if you’re feeling extra-stressed!

You’ll also have ample opportunity to explore the local area, with historic Richmond just a few minutes’ drive away, and both Harrogate and York in easy reach by car. But if all you feel like doing is soaking up the peace and beauty of Treetops Hideouts, that’s only to be expected.

Things to note

Children are not permitted at The Pines Treehouse. Please note that the treehouse is also not suitable for guests with limited mobility, due to the narrow twisting staircase. The cottage is situated next to the owners’ residence, but is completely private.
