Spanning 16,000 West Sussex acres that form part of the South Downs National Park, The Cowdray Estate isn’t just rural heaven made real.
Here you’ll discover a cared-for natural playground that buzzes with life and energy, whether you’re indulging in one of the estate’s many immersive activities, or simply sitting back and listening to nature’s soundtrack.
If you venture into the ancient beech wood, you’ll also discover a sumptuous collection of treehouses that are made for luxurious relaxation – whether you’re travelling solo or with loved ones (best four-legged friends included).
Along with a high-ceilinged superking bedroom, the four treehouses each boast full self-catering facilities, elegant designer style, and individual features that mean you can choose the perfect tree-treat, regardless of who you’ve got in tow.
Buzzard is particularly ideal for dog-owners, while family-oriented Muntjac features two single sofa beds for children or friends. Chukka includes one single sofa bed, and Griffin’s sociable kitchen/diner is wonderful for longer stays or indulgent entertaining! Toddler camp beds and cots can also be provided in any treehouse on request.
Whichever haven you choose, you’ll find your surroundings impeccably styled with carefully-chosen vintage furniture and original modern art. Huge glass doors lead out to your private wraparound deck and outdoor bath, elevated in that glorious forest canopy for a bubble-soak to savour. (Muntjac also features an indoor bath).
You’ll find a selection of local guidebooks and maps in the lounge, along with games, books… and a Smart TV with pre-loaded streaming apps. There’s a DAB radio, Bluetooth speakers, and superfast Wi-Fi, too – so however you prefer to kick back and relax, you absolutely can.
