The Sea Dragons are architect-designed clifftop cabins that overlook the vast, shimmering North Sea, with panoramic views of Southwold on the Suffolk Heritage Coast.
The cabins’ inventive design is inspired by the legend of a winged, cloven-hoofed sea monster caught by Suffolk fishermen in 1749. Taken from drawings of the creature, the structures represent dragons with tails curving into the landscape, winged roofs and cedar-shingle cladding to resemble scales.
Inside, the sea dragon’s ‘ribs’ take the form of an exquisite beamed roof, with a soaring vaulted ceiling that evokes an indulgent feeling of space… not to mention the most incredible 180-degree views from enormous windows.
Scylla is the first Sea Dragon to be completed (the second, Kraken, will be available later in 2025 with the same facilities). Perfect for a couple’s escape, the superking Egyptian cotton-dressed bed is in prime position for lazy lie-ins, as you watch the sun – or a dramatic storm! – rising over the North Sea.
Full self-contained facilities include a well-equipped kitchen area, with a dining table and chairs for laughter-fuelled chats over romantic suppers. When you’re finished, pour another glass of wine and retire to the cushion-festooned sofa in front of the Smart TV, or your favourite tunes playing on the sleek Sonos sound system.
The furnished deck is a sublime sundowner-spot on balmy summer evenings, or fire up the Nespresso machine and savour that first coffee of the day outside, listening to the gentle sound of the waves… bliss.
Freshen up in the luxurious shower room – furnished with a high-end digital shower and fluffy towels – and get planning what you’ll do with the unfolding day ahead. You could pack a picnic and take the owners’ private track down to their estate’s secluded, atmospheric beach at Easton Bavents: a mere 15-minute stroll away.

What the guests of The Sea Dragons say
“We feel rather privileged to have been the first guests in this wonderful new cabin – an exceptional piece of architecture with well designed living and sleeping spaces. We’ve stayed several times at Easton Bavents, owned and managed by Anne & Phil and this one continues with the same high standards: no-fuss just exactly what is needed in terms of comfort & daily needs… and of course privacy & spectacular views. All makes for a brilliant and relaxing break. Thank you.”
“Oh my goodness, you have surpassed yourselves with this one – small but perfectly formed, as well as super-stylish. Congratulations – we LOVE it.”
