If you’re ready for a break from life’s hustle and bustle (and who isn’t?), you’ll find The Roost Luxury Cabins waiting for you with open arms.

Set within 2.5 enchanting acres of meadow in a Forest of Dean Special Area of Conservation, the two bespoke crafted cedar cabins – cosily named The Nook and The Nest – have been rated by The Sunday Telegraph as one of their top Great Cabin Getaways. The site is also a proud recipient of a Gold Award Certificate for ‘Best New Business’ in the South West England Tourism Excellence Awards and the National Winner for Best Tourism Business in the Rural Business Awards. Rich in luxurious, snuggly detail, it isn’t hard to understand why!

Better still, there’s no need for puppy-dog eyes as you leave your best four-legged friend behind. Both cabins are dog-friendly, sleeping not only two adults, but two dogs.

(If you’re worried that your dog might not be comfortable enough in your chosen cabin, perhaps its handmade doggy truckle bed and selection of treats will help to ease your mind!)

Individually styled and decorated, The Nook is furnished in tones of teal green and pale pink, while The Nest sports cheerful mustard yellow and navy, to complement the rustic wooden furniture.

Both cabins allow you to make the most of the exceptional Great Outdoors, with huge, scenery-showcasing French windows, and a covered decking area complete with a Japanese soaking tub, to help you welcome the sunset in style.

Back inside, you’ll find every last detail generously covered, from the fine Egyptian cotton linens on your kingsize bed, to the tasty homemade bakes you’ll find awaiting your arrival… to get your break off to the perfect start, all you have to do is pop the kettle on.

More information

(Not forgetting the fluffy bath robes and locally made toiletries… plus a charming kitchen area, equipped with all the utensils, pans and plates you could want.)

Snuggle up by the wood-burner by evening – you’ll find plenty of wood and kindling to keep your cabin nice and toasty, as you break open a board game and get to know your loved one all over again. But if you prefer relaxing al fresco, you could always light the firepit, prepare the barbecue, and enjoy a glass of wine on the beautiful swinging loveseat instead!

After a sound night’s sleep – and perhaps a lazy lie-in – in your downy bed, why not enjoy fresh-ground morning coffee on the decking, take an energising power shower, then get to know the local area a little better?

Your four-legged friend will love the abundance of walking trails to be found… and to make life easier, your cabin is gainfully equipped with an OS ranger map that will lead you in the direction of the very best.

There’s a wealth of attraction and activities to explore, and the cabin’s friendly owners have even created a handpicked guide of local places to eat, just in case you don’t feel like cooking. It’s yet another thoughtful feature in a stay that’ll make you feel so well taken care of, you won’t want to go home!
