Secluded on a 100-acre sheep farm, The Red Cabin couldn’t be more beautifully positioned for immersing your soul and senses in natural wonder.

Part of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the cabin’s peaceful location is also a designated Dark Skies area… so no matter the time of day or night, your surroundings are guaranteed to be awe-inspiring.

Owners Steve and Tally were keen to create a sustainable off-grid sanctuary; a place where guests could relax and breathe easy, with all the wellness facilities they could possibly want.

As such, The Red Cabin has been crafted to cutting-edge new-build techniques, from British-sourced materials that include recycled bottles for toasty insulation and windows expertly made in Eastbourne.

Inside await pared-down, Scandi-inspired interiors with locally-made elements that include a bespoke Kava kitchen worktop, recycled fabrics, and a kingsize bed with organic cotton bedding.

Little luxuries, like bamboo-covered hot water bottles, add a blissful feeling of indulgence, while even the cabin’s loo is a thing of beauty: a state of the art eco-dry-flush toilet, majestically mounted in a ‘throne-with-a-view’!

Meanwhile, said wellness facilities include your own private wood-fired sauna, with a combined hot tub and cold plunge pool out on the scenic deck… ideal for indulging your inner Wim Hof as the sun rises over glorious green fields.

More information

Don’t worry if you’d rather not brave the cold water, though! Yoga equipment is also provided, to help ease you gently into the morning. When you’ve finished your session, simply laze on the deck with your first coffee of the day, watching grazing sheep and getting deliriously lost in conversation, until it’s time to decide what you’ll do with the rest of your time.

If all you feel like doing is brewing another hot drink and opening a good book, so be it – you’re on holiday, after all. But if you’re in the mood to explore, you’ll soon discover plenty to see and do.

You could head for the nearby town of Tenterden – otherwise known as the ‘Jewel of the Weald’ – and take a nostalgic trip on the Kent and East Sussex railway. Historic, fascinating Rye is in easy reach, too.

Take your pick of incredible local pubs and eateries, or spend a day visiting mesmerising landmarks, including Bodiam Castle and Bewl Reservoir.

However you choose to spend your days at The Red Cabin, we’re willing to bet the best part will be relaxing with a sundowner by tranquil evening, just before the stars make their shimmering appearance in that enormous, pitch-dark sky.
