Built into a glorious green hillside in North Wales, The Prancing Pony is an underground retreat plucked straight from the pages of an epic fantasy story.

You’ll feel as though you’ve entered another world as you arrive on the peaceful family-run farm, surrounded by pure greenery that’s dotted with curious sheep, horses, and cows… with the occasional wandering goat!

Behind the quirky round entrance window is a cosy living space with a butter-soft, cushion-covered sofa that easily coverts to a double bed by night.  There’s a downy kingsize bed, too, sleeping up to four guests in total.

Whip up light meals and snacks in the handy kitchenette, then savour post-supper drinks outside on the scenic patio.  Grab a book and swing gently in the hanging garden chair awhile, or take a relaxing dip in the hot tub as day slowly melts into night… your choice.

What to do after that sound night’s sleep?  Take a four-mile trip to visit the spectacular Llanrhaeadr Waterfalls – one of the Seven Wonders of Wales – stopping in The Wynnstay Arms afterwards for welcome refreshments.  Lake Vyrnwy is also nearby; a dream setting for walks, picnics, and wildlife-spotting, before settling in for another fantasy-like evening together at The Prancing Pony.
