Designed to make the most of the natural light, the cottage is airy and bright throughout, with high ceilings and glass doors that give an immediately warm, friendly and spacious feeling.

Discover the open-plan kitchen and living area, featuring a cosy sofa and a rocking chair for a taste of the traditional country life. Why not select one of the many local history books found inside, make yourself a cuppa and lose yourself in words for a while?  If music’s your thing, the Bluetooth radio will ensure you’re able to set the perfect background mood.

You’ll find the handcrafted kitchen has all the equipment you need to whip up a romantic feast for two, and there’s even a Lavazza coffee machine for caffeine lovers. Or if you prefer, why not pop outside and rustle up a taste of Italy in the small wood fired pizza oven, followed by some stargazing by the fire pit – marshmallows provided!

When it’s time to turn in, an oak barn sliding door will lead you to a bedroom built for snuggling, with a hand-designed, expertly crafted bed dressed in white linen and made from reclaimed wood, featuring plenty of storage for all your holiday essentials. Gorgeously fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries await you in the cosy en-suite wet room.

Once you’ve explored the cottage, you’ll find you’re perfectly located to enjoy the very best of the outdoors.  Perhaps start with a refreshing morning drink in the seating area outside…there’s no need to rush yourselves!

You may have brought your car to the cottage, but you’ll find you won’t need it to enjoy the rolling countryside and pretty villages right on your doorstep.  Perhaps start by taking an invigoratingly scenic stroll from the cottage and over to the dales town of Reeth, where you’ll discover a charming village green surrounded by a wealth of shops, pubs and cafes to try.

History buffs will enjoy a wander round nearby Swaledale Museum, and for those who are looking for an authentic country pub to recharge in, the Charles Bathurst Inn, with its roaring log fires and locally sourced food, won’t disappoint.

Cycling and Yorkshire go hand in hand, of course, and you’ll find plenty of challenging hill climbs – including the renowned Buttertubs Pass nearby – if you’re looking to burn a few calories from all those hearty pub meals!

Charming market towns including Bedale, Leyburn and Northallerton (featuring the famous Betty’s tea shop) are all nearby for when the need of a ramble and a morning coffee – along with a large slice of cake of course – strikes.

Further afield, Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes is ideal for cheese lovers and fans of Wallace and Gromit alike!  The town of Masham is lovely for a day out…why not try some of their famous sausages or a beer at the Black Sheep brewery for an authentically delicious taste of local culture, before making your way back to The Little Barn for a secluded barbecue on the lawn?
