Luxury log-cabin-style hideaways, surrounded by breath-taking gardens on a historic Grade II-listed property in North Wales.
  • Sleeps: 2 per roundhouse
  • Bedroom: 1 per roundhouse
  • Bathroom: 1 per roundhouse
  • Minimum stay: 2 nights

In a true labour of love, friendly owners Tom and Jenny have spent years designing and developing the beautiful gardens on the grounds of their 18th century home, which was once the laundry and dairy to Llanrhaeadr Hall.

And if you’re in need of some well-deserved rest and reconnection with nature, you can opt to stay in the gently restored Grade II-listed property itself…

… or in the magical Roundhouses; adults-only hideaways with mesmerising views of the Clwydian Range. A designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with huge, clear skies that are perfect for stargazing, you’ll soon be lost in scenic heaven.

Naturefully named Tilia and Ilex (brand-new addition Ilex is bookable now), the Roundhouses are circular, timber-framed eco-buildings that are reminiscent of a soothing log cabin, and are perfectly equipped to allow you to soak up the blissful peace and quiet and to switch off from the hassles of everyday life.

With your roundhouse purposefully facing eastwards, you’ll be able to clutch a steaming mug of coffee and watch the sun rise gently over the horizon – but if you can’t get out of that dreamy kingsize bed with its luxury cotton sheets, no problem. Huge, extra-height windows mean that amazing vista can come to you.

Meanwhile, every holiday indulgence is more than catered for, from the large shower, locally sourced toiletries and fluffy bathrobes, to a gorgeous mini kitchen… though you’ll also find an outdoor hob and cooker that are ideal for lazy al fresco suppers.  You’ll even be supplied with a welcome hamper containing locally sourced and homemade essentials, to help get your stay off to a delicious start.

Linger outside well into the evening… simply pour another glass of wine, and light the firepit to stay nice and toasty (marshmallows and storytelling optional!)

What the guests of The Laundry Retreat say

“What a beautiful place, we have thoroughly enjoyed our time here and most certainly don’t want to go home! The retreat is so well thought out, we wanted for nothing and the little extras were a lovely thought. It is brilliantly situated for exploring North wales, topped off by its own amazing view!” Nicola and Richard

“Tilia is the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy some quality time together. Jenny and Tom have made sure that we felt at home and anything we needed was never too much trouble. The gardens are exquisite and this weekend has been a great start to birthday celebrations. We would love to come again.”
