A unique, lovingly bespoke-crafted country escape (with an ingenious hot tub created from a Lotus Elan!) peacefully secluded with beautiful Hattingley Valley views.
  • Sleeps: 2
  • Bedroom: 1
  • Bathroom: 1
  • Minimum stay: 1 night

Nestled on the outskirts of the ancient East Hampshire village of Medstead, The Horse Hut and Lotus Spa is the perfect place to unwind from hectic everyday life.

For starters, you’ll find it extremely hard to believe that your lovingly-crafted retreat was once an unassuming lorry-mounted container that trundled along country lanes to and from Polo and Shire horse-shows.

That’s because creative owners Ralph and Lucy have imbued their beloved retreat with skill, care, and plenty of artistic style that will inspire gasps of awe as you survey your new surroundings. In fact, keep your phone handy as you’ll definitely want to update your Insta feed!

As soon as you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by the ingenious Lotus Elan hot tub, complete with steering wheel, radio, bubble-jets, and the most incredible sunset views from the former horse field, all the way out to the Hattingley Valley vineyards beyond.

Then there’s the incredibly spacious hand-made veranda and bar, with cushion-festooned daybed seating and a roof that means you can enjoy those mesmerising rural views over a well-deserved glass of fizz, no matter what the weather is doing. Why not add a delicious al fresco supper, cooked in your gas-fired pizza oven or barbecue?

Inside awaits a gorgeous blend of butter-soft furnishings and holiday conveniences with bespoke-crafted elements and well-chosen accessories that give a subtle nod to the hut’s horsey-heritage.

The cosy four-poster bed boasts wooden pillars reclaimed from a church, and there’s a vintage record player and radio to help you set the perfect background mood as you lounge on the ‘horseshoe’-shaped sofa, log burner ablaze.
