The Hive is a cosy wooden dome for couples and small families alike, lovingly and creatively hand-built to resemble a beehive. Enormous honeycomb-like windows allow sunshine to flood cheerfully inside, while gently curved walls evoke a comforting sense of home.

Better still, you’ll be surrounded by pure, picture-perfect Cypriot nature, close to the bustling coastal town of Peyia yet far enough away to feel completely secluded. Simply stretch out on the large sun terrace by day – you can also use it for energising morning yoga – and unwind in the hot tub by star-filled night.

There’s a TV to keep you entertained if the evening should turn chilly, and when it’s finally time to turn in, a large double bed and two singles will be waiting to lull you into a sound, silent night’s sleep.

When morning rolls around, whip up a delicious breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen, to be savoured at the al fresco dining table against a joyful soundtrack of birdsong, and superlative scenes of peaceful nature.

Though you’ll be achingly close to Coral Bay, and just a short drive away from Paphos, you may well decide not to move so much as a muscle… for which no-one could possibly blame you!
