Secluded directly in the hillside, and looking out over the tranquil, shimmering Loch Harport, The Hillside Hideaway promises to take your breath away.
Ideal for a couple in need of a break from hectic everyday life, you’ll feel as though you’ve cast yourselves away to a magical world as you enter the glass-walled, living-roofed retreat, which has been finished to an exceptionally high standard.
Grab a drink and watch that magnificent Isle of Skye landscape unfurl before you in the cosy living area, which comes equipped with a crackling wood-burning stove and squishy, cushion-covered sofas.
You’ll find a charming kitchen right behind the living space, with a dining area that’s perfect for romantic suppers. If you’ve brought a good book along with you, there’s even a snug, ‘secret’ hideaway just past the kitchen that’s ideal for curling up and getting lost in your imagination (this can also work as an office space, just in case you need to catch up on work while you’re away).
If you prefer getting up close and personal with the scenery, simply head through the doors leading from the dining area to the furnished deck, and make yourselves comfy. Though be warned: once experienced, you may find it extremely difficult to go back inside again!
Should you manage it, you’ll find the master bedroom sumptuously peaceful, decorated in warm tones and perfectly set for a sound night’s sleep. The indulgent en-suite bathroom, meanwhile, is home to a deep bath, a double sink, and a luxurious walk-in shower.
If you’re in the mood to explore further afield during your stay, there are plenty of options, beginning with the famous and historic Talisker Distillery, where you can organise a fine single malt tasting session if you feel so inclined!

More information
You can also take a boat trip from the pontoon (which can be seen from your hideaway), with destinations including Neist Point – very popular with basking sharks, or to the McLeod’s Maidens sea stacks at Loch Bracadale. There is plenty of wildlife to spot on the beach at Talisker Bay, and of course, the Fairy Pools at the foot of the Black Cuillin mountains are well worth getting your camera phone out for.
Yet if you don’t feel like moving much at all, a meander on foot to the local grocery store in nearby Carbost ensures you can stock up on holiday essentials. You may feel like stopping at the Old Inn on your way back, perhaps staying on for a meal and a live music performance if you decide you’re not really in the mood for cooking.
However you spend your time, you’re sure to crave the company of your Hillside Hideaway as the sun begins to set. Head out onto the deck with your evening tipple, and feel your souls refresh as you gaze out over that captivating, ever-changing scenery once again.
