An eye-catching retreat for two guests and their well-behaved dog, The Gatehouse Barrow enjoyed a hard-working former life as a gatehouse to the local printworks.

These days, you’ll find the building sumptuously restored, with an exquisite mix of characterful original features and sleek mod-cons.

The open-plan living space is a joy to relax in, with its high ceiling, solid oak flooring, Smart TV, and huge windows that allow natural light to flood cheerfully inside. Simply light the wood-burner to make evenings feel wonderfully snug.

Meanwhile, the bespoke wood-and-granite kitchen is gainfully equipped for romantic suppers, served by soft-glowing light at the dining table.

When it’s finally time to turn in, climb the corner staircase to the elegant superking bedroom. Boasting a pitched ceiling and dormer windows, there’s also an en-suite shower room for morning freshen-ups.

All that’s left to do is savour morning coffee on the patio, then wander into the village to explore!
