Kanchanaburi is famous for being the setting of the epic war novel The Bridge over the River Kwai (which was adapted into a film in 1957).  Surrounded by lush jungle greenery and soaring Sai Yok mountain vistas, it’s a fascinating location that’s abundantly rich in natural beauty.
