Sleeping up to 21 guests in eight comfy bedrooms, no-one has to stay behind as you prepare for the ultimate Norfolk lock-in. And trust us: once you’ve seen what incredible delights await at Five Bells Inn, you’ll want to shout them from the rooftops.

These include a saloon bar area with pool and football tables, an enormous kitchen with gleaming appliances and an indoor barbecue, and a tram-themed restaurant with first-class booths (and air hockey for the kids… big kids included!)

They also include a sitting room furnished with plush Chesterfield sofas and a huge TV for cosy evenings in. Though if that isn’t quite enough to help you feel relaxed, may we suggest a sunset dip in the al fresco hot tub, or a pre-slumber session in the garden sauna pod?

Each bedroom comes complete with en-suite facilities (read: no awkward morning queues) and are flexibly arranged to accommodate singles, couples, and families alike.

The first-floor is home to three kingsize bedrooms, a twin, and two family rooms: one with three single beds and another with a kingsize and two singles. Meanwhile, two ground-floor annexes are ideal for those who don’t do stairs: comprising a kingsize room and a family room with a kingsize and a single.

If you’re venturing out, Upwell is home to independent shops and a friendly café – not to mention a different pub! – to while away some time in.

You could also embark on the relaxed, three-and-a-half-mile Outwell and Upwell walk, where you’ll learn about the history of the tramway that inspired those classic children’s tales of Thomas the Tank Engine… and of course, Five Bells Inn’s own tram-themed restaurant.

In the mood to explore further afield? Wisbech is full of unique attractions, including the West Norfolk Aviation Museum for aeroplane-buffs, and Peckover House and Gardens for those who want to imagine themselves as characters from Downton Abbey.
