Since they put down roots in 2017, The Firs’ friendly owners have worked hard on transforming their beloved Suffolk location into a rural paradise.
Old farm buildings were creatively renovated, and the grounds beautifully restored, to create both a treasured home they love, and a soothing sanctuary for their lucky guests.
First: each of the 6 unique, individually-styled retreats you’ll discover here feature luxury beds, roaring fireplaces, a well stocked kitchen and a wood-fired soaking tub to help you welcome the Suffolk sunset in style!
Second: the entire site is rich in glorious features that will help you relax and enjoy life in the countryside, whether that’s picking fresh vegetables from the kitchen garden, cooking a sizzling supper on the firepit, spotting local wildlife in the woodland or watching the sun go down through the trees.
You could also choose to unwind in the all-natural Piggery Spa, which comes complete with a sauna, a plunge bucket, and an al fresco shower.
Perfect for small families, The Bushel is a spacious safari tent that sleeps two adults and two children. Complete with a private bathroom, kitchen, and dining area, you’ll also have a gorgeous terrace to spend lazy afternoons on, with views of the wildlife-steeped orchard and woodland.
Leaving the kids at home? Stylish and sophisticated, The Cowshed is perfect for two: a romantic countryside retreat with an elegant superking bedroom, and a sumptuous living space that’s perfect for snuggling.

What the guests of The Firs Suffolk say
“Had such a fantastic stay in this astonishingly beautiful place! Felt like 5* luxury – everything just perfect and exquisite from warm welcome on arrival to cycle hire to the pub, use of the Firs hot tub and sauna to nighttime log fires and big soft bed, fat pillows and falling asleep gazing at stars through the skylight. The countryside peace was simply perfect to declutter and unwind – will definitely be back very soon!”
“A beautiful setting in the countryside of Suffolk. Tucked away from any main roads and extremely quiet at night, the only sound is owls hooting. A short drive to Southwold beach. A high standard of accommodation, comfortable beds and wonderfully designed rooms. It is very evident Alison and Amy have poured their hearts and souls into making this small piece of paradise in Suffolk. We will be returning to this wonderful place, just don’t tell too many people otherwise we will never be able to get a booking!!”
“We came to stay at The Firs Suffolk as a last minute escape, we desperately needed a break and time out. After just one night here in the Cowshed, we felt like we had been here for days. The accommodation
is so thoughtfully designed, everything has been considered. The beds are the comfiest I have ever slept in! We loved the garden with our own fire pit and sitting just listening to birds and nature, the owls at night, no traffic noise whatsoever was exactly what we needed. It has been perfect in every way, thank you Alison and Amy!”
