Recharge your batteries on board an off-grid, vintage-styled double-decker bus in the heart of rural Devon, with beautiful natural views that stretch as far as the eye can see.
  • Sleeps: 4
  • Bedrooms: 2
  • Bathroom: 1
  • Minimum stay: 2 nights

The Bus on the Hill occupies a glorious, gently elevated spot in the ancient Devon village of Huntsham, with idyllic rural scenery that appears blissfully untouched by time.

Here you can stretch out and relax to a soothing soundtrack of birdsong, or perhaps the distant sound of farmers at work. Meanwhile, the dreamy views stretch out for miles and miles, leading your gaze over lush fields and rolling hills towards Sidmouth Gap.

Ideal for a small family (four-legged members included!) the luxurious green double-decker bus comes equipped with everything you’ll need for a cosy and indulgent stay. For starters, there’s plenty to enjoy outside, with a private, fairy-lit patio area that showcases those incredible views to perfection. There’s a barbecue on hand for sizzling sunset suppers, too.

Powered by solar panels, the off-grid bus opens into the spacious kitchen area, where you’ll find a gorgeous vintage gas cooker and four-ring hob – plus a microwave and an air-fryer – for preparing family-sized feasts of every description.

There’s even a coffee-maker to help charge mornings spent at the breakfast bar, with that mesmerising rural scenery right in front of you. On chilly mornings, simply fire up the wood-burner to feel perfectly toasty.

Feel like curling up with a good book? Towards the back of the bus is a comfy snug, with super-soft seating and plenty of cushions. This area can also be used as a children’s sleeping space if needed – the friendly owners will provide sleeping bags on request, so you won’t have to find extra space for your luggage.

Climb the stairs to the upper deck, and be greeted by a huge, downy bed that’s flanked by windows for superlative morning views… if you’re lucky, you could catch a glimpse or two of grazing deer.
