Nestled away in a private cove on the beachfront itself and with the most breathtaking South Devon coastal views all around and out to sea, The Beach Hut is the perfect setting for the beginning of a magical holiday story.

Luxuriate in the feeling of having your very own personal beach, isolated at the bottom of a steep cliff path, where you can sit undisturbed for as long as you like, whiling away the hours in close conversation as you listen to waves crashing romantically against the rocks, with seagulls cawing overhead – and perhaps even accompanied by a sizzling barbecue!

The Beach Hut is home to a downy double bed accessed by a ladder, a large table with bench seats for romantic dining, and two cosy hammocks to snuggle up in whilst gazing out to sea.  

Oh, and there’s a gorgeously glowing wood-burner inside too, so if the evening turns chilly, you can still keep those toes toasty and warm. Meanwhile, the dedicated shower room and WC means there’ll be no midnight traipsing across the sand to freshen up!

The compact kitchen area includes all the pots, pans, crockery and cutlery you’ll need for your stay (so you can pack pleasingly light) with a double gas hob and grill, fridge freezer and sink to help meal preparation along.  

For a sunset-watching treat, how about firing up the hot tub, opening a bottle of something lovely, then simply relaxing under the emerging stars?

You may find you enjoy being holed up together in your private beachfront hideaway somuch that you don’t feel like leaving! If you do however, you’re in for a treat with so much to do and see in the local area. Why not begin with a beachside picnic or a trip to Newton Ferrers, just over a mile away and a wonderful place to try out your sea legs by hiring a boat? Nearby Salcombe is also a perfect setting for a variety of watersports.

• Private parking available at nearby Carswell Farm. Please note that The Beach Hut is a 15-minute walk away from the farm and includes a steep downward path to the cove. It is advised that you carry rucksacks for luggage and wear sturdy footwear!
• Due to the property’s location, children under 18 and pets are not permitted.
• Crockery and cooking essentials, 100% cotton linen, bathrobes, and hand towels are provided. Please bring beach towels.

There are plenty of local walks available, along with opportunities for horse riding, golf and cycling. In summertime, a walkalong the edge of the Plymouth Sound to Cawsand is a fantastic experience – just take the passenger ferry back again, sit back and enjoy the views!

Things to note

There is a 15-minute walk over rough ground with a steep slope to reach the Hut and so it is not suitable for those with mobility difficulties. The property has no internet access, 4G, or mobile phone signal, the double bed has a ladder that you climb up, there is a set stay of 2 nights from a Friday, Monday, or Wednesday, arrival time is after 3pm and departure by 11am (2pm if departing on Sunday), children and dogs are strictly not permitted, no smoking allowed, food hampers are available to purchase.
