Standing proudly in its own expansive green garden, the seven-storey Stoke Ferry Windmill is an idyllic Norfolk village retreat for large group breaks, surrounded by your favourite people.
(With space for up to 15 guests, and boasting not only a packed games barn, but a children’s trampoline and a heated pool outside, there’ll be no need to worry about how everyone will pass the time!)
The Grade II listed mill has been painstakingly restored, with plenty of polished and contemporary style. Yet with its gently curved walls, beamed ceilings, and many original features still intact, there’s also a fascinating sense of history throughout.
Oh, and if it’s jaw-dropping 360-degree views you’re after, then the viewing platform at the very top of the 70ft mill, with soothing scenery that stretches out for miles, won’t disappoint.
Meanwhile, you’ll find plenty of cosily furnished spaces to curl up in, including the wood burner-equipped sitting room… a must for post-dinner chats on cooler evenings! There’s a gorgeous kitchen to whip up those meals in, too, complete with gleaming appliances and a roaring open fire.
Gather everyone around to enjoy the fruits of your culinary labours in the stunning circular dining room on the ground floor, with a seat at the large table for everyone, and a glass walkway overhead that showcases the former mill workings to perfection.
Fed and watered, it’s time to claim your favourite sleeping space! There are seven bedrooms to choose from, including the sumptuous Master Suite in the main house, which features a superking four poster bed, and a spacious en-suite with a wet room and an extra-deep bath.

More information
But if you miss out on that one, don’t worry – the remaining rooms are just as comfy! The main house is also home to an opulent double room, a chic twin, and a family room with a double and single bed.
If you’ve got more of a head for heights, you could opt for one of the three scenic, circular bedrooms on the third, fourth, and fifth floors in the tower instead. Each room leads straight into each-other via the staircase, so are particularly ideal for close family members.
Now, what about exploring the local area? Well… you can, if you like. There’s a wealth of walking and cycling opportunities amongst the forest and rivers, and an array of Norfolk attractions, including the Corn Exchange Theatre and Gooderstone Water Gardens, in easy reach.
But you may feel that staying put in your mill is the perfect way to spend a holiday. Particularly when you get to grab a sun lounger by the pool and relax, as the kids wear themselves out on the trampoline, or play an energetic game of footie in the garden!
Later on, why not head for the games barn, and challenge your loved ones to a game of pool or table football, before greeting the sunset from the top of the tower?
It’s the perfect way to end yet another fun-and-relaxation-packed day together.
