We can guarantee that you’ll never have stayed anywhere like New Zealand’s innovative SiloStay before.

Endlessly original, fascinating and on a mission to be mindful of the environment, SiloStay consists of individual, circular hotel units in the shape of repurposed grain silos!

You’ll find your wonderfully imaginative accommodation just outside Christchurch, in the tranquil, unspoilt town of Little River on Banks Peninsula. A scenic town formed from ancient volcanic eruptions and rich in natural history, Little River is the perfect spot for overworked minds seeking an undisturbed sanctuary, or for those who just want to revel in the beauty of life for a while.

The SiloStay complex includes eight single silos that each sleep two people, along with an accessible suite and an eco-friendly pellet boiler housed within a separate energy unit to provide heating. LED lighting, cruelty-free wool insulation and a ‘bio pod’ waste management system complete the environmentally friendly story here.

Quirkily styled with clean, original detail and good-humoured touches throughout, you’ll feel cosy and welcome just as soon as you arrive in your private 8.7 metre high unit. A sociable living area with table and chairs is provided, while a custom-fitted kitchenette with cooktop and microwave provides everything you need to prepare holiday meals.

Head up the winding steel staircase to find an ensuite bedroom equipped with a downy queen-sized bed and wall-mounted flat screen TV – the perfect place to lounge and gaze at the twinkling stars through the glazed silo lid.

A four-person ‘Accessible Silo’ is also available for up to 2 adults and 2 children, with all accommodation housed on one level for those with access requirements, families, or those wishing to sleep in separate beds.

With absolutely everything you need right there at your fingertips (including a supply of gourmet microwave meals if required!), and with such a cosy place to relax in, it would be understandable if you decided to simply hole up in your silo for the duration of your stay.
