Nestled on the bank of the River Waveney, on the edge of the shimmering Broads National Park, the Suffolk town of Beccles is the ideal setting for water-based relaxation and adventure.
A long-established local icon, Hippersons Boatyard is a working boatyard, and a family-run haven comprising floating escapes, glamping hideaways, and seafaring experiences to suit all holiday tastes.
Their newest addition is Secret Garden, a cosy, east-facing pod for couples and families who enjoy life by the scenic river… but prefer to rest their heads on dry land!
Privately set in its own garden space, you can sit and watch the glistening water-world glide languorously by from the spacious and furnished decking, chatting and laughing over drinks and nibbles.
Inside awaits a sumptuous living space with high, gently curved ceilings. Here you’ll discover a squishy leather corner sofa and a TV to help cooler evenings go by with ease, while the glamping kitchenette comes equipped with everything you need to prepare meals, snacks, and riverside picnics.
(For extra foodie treats, why not order a goodie-packed hamper from Beccles Station Café to greet you on arrival, or arrange a fresh, tasty breakfast to be delivered straight to your deck every morning?)
Bedroom-wise, there’s an elegant double room to snuggle up in, as you drift off to sleep against a gentle soundtrack of wildlife. Meanwhile, big and little kids alike will love the second ‘secret’ bedroom; a light and cheerful space with an L-shaped bunk bed.
