If you’re looking for a fresh escape from stale everyday life, take a wander Round The Woods – wildlife and wildflower-strewn woods to be exact – with two lovingly handcrafted yurts and a bespoke cabin set in charming Norfolk countryside.
Featured on BBC’s ‘Gone Fishing’, it’s not hard to see why Round The Woods has also featured as one of The Guardian’s best ‘back to nature’ stays. Sparkling ponds and streams make for a soothingly tranquil backdrop, with an orchard containing lush fruit trees and several friendly, free-range chickens and geese. Perhaps make your acquaintance with the local barn owl as it hunts for food, along with the hares and deer grazing in the meadow!
Discover something for absolutely everybody along your way, from families looking for revitalising adventure, to couples seeking a romantic and natural retreat full of lasting memories.
The two enchantingly homely yurts – Oak Tree and Hazelnut, which can also be booked together for larger gatherings – are each a spacious 6m in diameter, sleep up to five adults and an infant, and are perfectly and privately positioned in a large meadow that’s ideal for games of all description! If you don’t feel like joining in, why not gaze out over the meadow from the comfort of your hammock instead?
In addition, a year-round bespoke natural build roundhouse cabin welcomes guests to stay in; a peaceful space to relax and reconnect with nature. Expect equally clean, fresh and comfortable interiors with everything you could possibly need but with added quirks and beautiful handcrafted detailing. This unique structure is made with roundwood timber, strawbale walls, clay plaster, sheeps wool insulation and is topped off with a reciprocal roof with sedum on the top.
Family owned and with a Gold Accreditation from Green Tourism, you can rest assured that as you while away your days in the wondrous woods, exceptional care is taken not only with your stay, but also of the surrounding area and the local environment. The yurts are crafted from British timber and are off-grid with solar-powered energy, each one features its own composting toilet and kindling is used from the woodland, and guests are encouraged to recycle wherever possible.
You’ll find cooking equipment provided, and will arrive to campfire treats to get your stay off to the perfect start. Prepare meals on your gas stove, or the handmade woodburning stove that also houses a handy oven, before enjoying your culinary efforts around a sociable dining table.Enjoy a wood-fired feast cooked up in the pizza oven, or grill your supper on the BBQ.Keep reading

What the guests of Round the Woods say
you so much for the opportunity to stay in such a magical location. The yurt is
brilliant, so well thought out with lots of lovely touches. The bed is the best
ever! We loved walking around the woods and meadow, and the chance to get back
to basics (with some luxuries) is brilliant. We’ll head back to reality
re-charged thanks to our stay here.”

wonderful this place is… Seb and Kate, you have done an outstanding job in
creating this magical place. We feel refreshed, inspired, and totally in love
with the Round the Woods experience. Glamping was a first for us but definitely
not a last. We came with our 3 kiddies, aged 14, 11 and 13 months and every
single one of them learned something new and had a fantastic time! This
experience brought us closer as a family and I thank you for that! We loved
every minute of it and next time we will be staying for longer than 3 nights as
it feels to wasn’t long enough. Sad to have to leave. PS I can’t believe how
this place has converted my city boy husband – we’ll be coming back soon.”

you for a lovely break in Hazelnut Yurt. We have all had a fantastic stay. With
time to relax and unwind in the beautiful surroundings and to explore some of
the adventures that Norfolk has to offer. The yurt has been a lovely cosy
retreat. We really appreciate the care that has gone into making it well
equipped and comfortable – especially the log burner and extremely comfortable
bed!! The children have loved having the freedom to run around spotting frogs
and minibeasts and having fun. Our recommendations for days out are Blakeney
Point seal trip and a lovely long boat trip on the Norfolk Broads. We’ve had a
