With so much to entice you to Rosehill Lodges, where do we start? Maybe you’ll be hooked in by its location in the small village of Porthtowan on the North Cornwall coast. Maybe it’s the promise of five-star accommodation only five minutes’ walk from the beach. Or perhaps you’ll be tempted by the opportunity to stay in a handcrafted, eco-friendly lodge in an idyllic wooded valley.
Whatever it is, rest assured that a fantastic holiday promising a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure awaits you there.
Rosehill Lodges offers luxury self-catering accommodation in nine bespoke lodges, each one hand built by local craftsmen on site. Offering the ultimate in eco-friendliness, each lodge is made from sustainable Cornish larch, with a grass-topped roof for full insulation. In fact, combined with the indoor log burner, the lodges are kept beautifully cosy and warm in the winter, yet blissfully cool in the summer. And with solar panels providing power, it’s no surprise that Rosehill Lodges was awarded a Gold Award under the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
The lodges themselves can sleep groups ranging between four and six people, and with easy-access, single-storey accommodation across the board, are suitable for guests of any age. They are all equally highly equipped; with LCD widescreen televisions, dishwashers and washer/dryers, as well as free Wi-Fi, the lodges offer every creature comfort for a luxurious stay. They have also all been finished to an incredibly high standard, from the super king bedrooms to the heated drench showers, which also double up as wet suit washes after a day spent on the beach!
The real highlight of each lodge has to be its terrace, however. Every one comes with a roomy outdoor space, sheltered by a glass roof for use even on rainy days, complete with BBQ, dining area, and…wait for it…a hot tub! The perfect way to unwind, each hot tub is positioned to offer privacy from other lodges. Checked daily to ensure it is in tip-top condition whenever you come to use it, let its jets and bubbles massage you and take relaxation to the next level!
As the owners put it, Rosehill Lodges really does offer the pinnacle of eco-elegance, and while you’re living the sustainable life, why not source your food locally too? In Cornwall, you’re going to want to try as much local fare as possible, and the Cornish Food Market, offering fresh local food brought to your lodge, is a great place to start. For something really special, you can always hire a private chef for a ‘catch and cook’ experience – fish for your food together before he cooks it for you! And with the famous Rodda’s Creamery only five miles away, it would be rude to leave without having enjoyed a traditional Cornish cream tea – jam first, then cream!
This just gives you a taste (quite literally) of all this fantastic area has to offer, and we haven’t even got to the beaches yet. Some of Britain’s finest, and popular with surfers, a visit in good weather has to involve swimming, paddling or simply building sandcastles! If you’re visiting Rosehill Lodges in the winter however, still head to the beach for the fantastic dramatic landscape, even if the occasional storm means your swimming costume has to stay at home!
