Looking out over the shimmering River Tweed, Rink Hill is a soothing and luxurious Scottish Borders hideaway, for two weary souls in need of escape from hectic everyday life.
Surrounded by wistful meadow, native grasses and wildflowers on the 500-acre Rink Farm, the rural retreat is beautifully nestled on the curve of a hillside, blending seamlessly with its natural surroundings.
A well-deserved finalist for a prestigious award in architectural technology, no detail has been spared at Rink Hill, from the natural materials and farm-harvested timber used in its construction, to the gleaming, full-height panoramic windows that curve around the space, showcasing that jaw-dropping scenery from every room.
Inside, the cosy, well-chosen local furnishings provide plenty of options for gazing dreamily at the mesmerising wonders of nature…
… whether that’s lighting the log fire and sinking into the squishy L-shaped sofa with a mug of coffee, waking up to incredible ‘big sky’ views from the downy bed, or enjoying a romantic feast at the scenic dining table. You’ll be supplied with a welcome hamper of local produce, to help make those feasts even more delicious.
Even the freestanding bath comes equipped with viewing options, facing a window and featuring a dramatic skylight overhead. Though if you prefer getting up close and personal with your surroundings, you could always wander outside and take a dip in the cedar hot tub, instead.
When you’ve finished, simply grab a chair and relax on the patio with a welcome glass of wine, as you catch up on the joys of life with your loved one. As the sun begins to sink over the trees, why not linger outside, and fire up the charcoal barbecue for a sizzling supper?
