Here you can feast your eyes upon endless marine life, including colourful shoals of fish and friendly green sea turtles, as they act out their daily comings and goings on the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef, otherwise known as the world’s largest coral reef system, and a magnificent natural wonder.

In fact, with giant, floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase the turquoise water and endless marine life in all their spectacular glory, you could be forgiven for thinking you’ve just arrived at the world’s greatest cinema!

Better still, with just two underwater suites available – both either kingsize or twin – you can enjoy a truly exclusive experience that will not only stay with you for life, but is guaranteed to have everybody talking back home.

You’ll find your luxurious suite equipped with downy, premium bedding, and a glass-walled en-suite (remember to pull the blinds down if you don’t want to be surprised by a passing snorkeller!)  Enjoy all the standard amenities you’d expect from hotel accommodation, with breakfast, morning and afternoon tea, lunch and a delicious evening meal all included.

As you can imagine, you’ll find plenty to do in the surrounding area by day. Immerse yourselves in that sparkling water with a swimming, diving, or guided snorkelling session, or take an impossibly scenic helicopter ride to discover the famed, protected Heart Reef – a spectacular composition of coral in a natural heart formation.

Though of course, you won’t have to leave the comfort of your Reefsuite if you’d rather not tear your gaze away from those views. You’ll also have access to the hotel’s underwater observatory, and the chance to enjoy drinks, socialising, and relaxation on the upper deck.

Day trippers are welcome aboard for the day, and there are on-deck Reefsleep beds for those who prefer an above-water experience. But as you enjoy your mouth-watering evening meal at the starlit dining table, you’re sure to feel incredibly lucky that you get to enjoy what really has to be the glistening jewel in any holiday crown.

Namely, a chance to get up close and personal with some of the most spectacular underwater views anyone is ever likely to see.

Things to note

Access to the hotel is via boat or helicopter. Check-in from 4:30pm, check out by 2:30pm. The suites are not suitable for children under 6. Children aged 6 and over are welcome to stay if accompanied by an adult. The pontoon is moored 40 nautical miles from shore.
