Boasting four elegant bedrooms and two large gardens, Quesnelle is the consummate Cornish coastal retreat for families and their best four-legged friends.

Not only is there a wealth of attractions and activities – including Newquay’s bustling town centre and the world-famous Fistral Beach – in ridiculously easy reach, but the peaceful retreat is wistfully reminiscent of carefree holidays past.

Originally designed in the 1950s by a trio of Cornish architects renowned for their classic-yet-modern designs, Quesnelle is the much-loved family home of owner Robert, who has fond memories of sun-dappled 1960s and 70s summer holidays spent there as a child.

As such, you’ll find the retreat decorated and furnished in a homely, vintage style that harks back to those halcyon days… when relaxation, togetherness, and fun were all that mattered.

Features like parquet flooring, a curved staircase, and the original green bathroom suite evoke sophisticated times past, with soft, deep sofas to sink into at the end of a day filled with adventure. You’ll even have a TV and Wi-Fi to help keep you entertained, and an Aga-equipped kitchen for rustling up family-sized feasts.

Enjoy your meals at the sociable dining table, or if the sun is shining, savour suppers in the sheltered pergola outside, with bench seating and soothing garden views. And with not one but two large gardens – one at the front, and one enclosed at the rear – there’s plenty of scope for the kids and dogs to burn off their holiday energy!

You’ll also have the aforementioned four elegant bedrooms to choose from: one superking, two doubles, and one twin which, along with a comfy sofa bed, sleep up to 10 guests in total. Along with a family bathroom, there’s an extra shower room with a separate WC and sink, to help eliminate awkward morning queues.
