Pluto the UFO is the latest – and possibly the quirkiest! – addition to Windmill Campersite, a friendly, family-run retreat overlooking Carisbrooke Castle on the Isle of Wight.

Would-be space travellers will delight in exploring the craft, with its fully electric door, cosmic lighting and plush leather interiors… indeed, it’s first-class travel all the way for these aliens!

Sleeping up to four guests, there’s a large half-moon bed and a fold-out mattress for sound nights of slumber. Fresh linen is provided, and there’s even an on-board loo, so you won’t have to orbit the planets in search of suitable facilities.

Prefer more down-to-earth accommodation? The adjacent ‘Basestation’ is home to a kitchen and bunk beds – perfect for an adult and a child – with communal showers and toilets just a few steps away.

Once you’ve settled in, why not get to know more Earthlings in the site’s many social areas, all of which are free and easy to use? ‘Mrs. Fire Pit’ includes a convivial seating area for storytelling and marshmallow-toasting, or get down to your favourite tunes in the silent disco. There’s even a dedicated stage – known as ‘Cinders’ Ball’ – for budding entertainers to work the crowd!

You won’t want to leave this brand-new world you’ve discovered, trust us. But for those who adore exploring, there’s a network of walking trails straight from the site, and beautiful beaches accessible in a mere 20-minute drive.
