One of Britain’s oldest settlements, and the former home of famed war poet Wilfred Owen, Oswestry dates back over three thousand years. These days there’s a lively café culture feel to the town, which is set achingly close to the Welsh borders and features a bustling market, plenty of independent shops and friendly locals.
Oswestry Church is the ideal setting for you and up to seven of your favourite people to enjoy this unique slice of combined English and Welsh heritage. Once a Victorian church, the spacious building has been expertly transformed into a modern and welcoming three-bedroomed home.
Plenty of original architectural features remain, such as the wooden church door, rustic oak beams and the grand, vaulted ceilings. Yet there’s an irresistibly relaxed and contemporary feel to this light-filled space, with its vibrant splashes of colour, plush furnishings, cutting-edge fittings, and well-chosen art throughout. You may even feel as though you’re living in your very own high-end gallery!
The heart of the home is its sociable lounge, which is large enough for everybody to stretch out and relax on plump sofas and cosy armchairs. Here you’ll find charming custom-made arched windows that look out over refreshing country views…that is, when you’re not enjoying a movie night in front of the huge flatscreen TV, toes warmed by toasty underfloor heating.
Congregate at the wooden dining table, over a feast cooked in the well-equipped kitchen – complete with a handy dual-purpose island that houses the oven and functions as a comfy breakfast bar. You’ll find a washer and dryer in the utility room next door, too.
When it’s time to turn in, simply wander through the art-lined hallway and choose your favourite from the ensuite bedrooms. The largest ground-floor room features two single beds and a bunk, while the second is home to a cosy kingsize bed.
Discover the master suite upstairs, complete with a downy super kingsize bed and a freestanding stone bath. All beds are dressed in Egyptian cotton for extra comfort and luxury.
