When creating their beloved Nuthatch Retreat, owners Nemia and Rod imagined a sustainable, soul-soothing haven filled with unique charm and character. As such, every last detail has been carefully considered for an idyllic escape to remember.
You’ll find the light-filled, single-storey retreat beautifully secluded on a hillside in the Forest of Dean, all ready and waiting to nourish your senses. Enormous triple-glazed sliding doors showcase the most breathtaking natural scenery, to be savoured from the dining patio or the homely, mid-century-styled lounge.
Marvel at the vibrant décor and furnishings, which include pieces by G Plan and Heals, with hand-sourced accessories, modernist-inspired fabrics, and lush indoor foliage that welcomes the outside in. Underfloor heating, fed from an air-source heat pump, will keep you perfectly toasty on cooler days.
The kitchen comes equipped with high-end Neff and AEG appliances – not to mention some choice delicious local delights! – though of course, you may prefer a sizzling supper on balmy summer evenings.
Spiral steps will lead you gently down from the patio, past enchanting wildflowers and edible plants, to your private firepit area. Just above awaits a Japanese-style deep-soak bathtub for two, with plenty of piping hot water and some aromatic bath treats to help you relax into the evening… bliss.
When it’s finally time to turn in, you’ll find the warm-toned superking bedroom adorned with everything you’ll need for a dreamy night of slumber, including a mix of hemp, linen, cotton and woollen bedding, handmade weaves, and thoughtfully-chosen artwork. As you drift off, you can also look forward to the most magnificent morning views from large windows.
(For an additional supplement, a second twin or double room can also be made up for two children – just ask).
