Nivunki Village isn’t merely a resort, but a full-on sensory experience deep in the Arctic wilderness. Rich in age-old heritage and warm Lappish hospitality (or väärti culture as it’s officially known), you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped into a glistening new world.

You’ll stay in a kota – a traditional Lappish hut – with enormous windows for watching the Northern Lights dance their way across the clear night sky. Each kota sleeps up to two guests in a kingsize bed or twin, with a deluxe rain shower, Wi-Fi, and a Nespresso machine thrown in for good measure.

Meet new friends in the main building (called “Pirtti” in Finnish), a relaxed communal gathering space, or enjoy traditional Lappish smoked foods and Arctic flavours in the on-site restaurant. Of course, there’s a sauna to relax in… this is Finnish Lapland, after all! Take a cool dip in the lake after your session, to feel truly “sauna clean”.

Such is the thoughtfulness and attention to detail here, that you’ll receive a complimentary clothes package to help you stay nice and warm. You can also take part in a wondrous array of adventures – from reindeer sledding to Lappish ceremonies – tailored to each of Lapland’s eight glorious seasons.
