Peacefully nestled in the South Downs National Park, Oakwood West Holidays is a sumptuous, award-winning collection of holiday cottages with hot tubs, for world-weary souls – and their best four-legged friends – to recharge in luxurious comfort.
Sleeping up to four lucky guests, your stay at Meadow Hide will feel like discovering a deliciously well-kept secret. A private, timber-crafted cottage with a glorious green roof and enormous windows, you can gaze dreamily across the wildlife-steeped meadow whether you’re inside or out.
(There’s certainly a lot to see… from meandering deer at dawn to swooping owls at dusk, with bees and butterflies flitting gently through the wildflowers on sun-dappled afternoons).
Full self-contained facilities include a well-equipped kitchen, and an indulgent bathroom with a walk-in shower. You’ll also have a generous al fresco deck with a barbecue for sizzling sunset suppers, and a bubbling hot tub for warm soaks under the emerging stars.
Meanwhile, the open-plan living space is inviting and sociable, with a vaulted timber ceiling, lovingly hand-made furniture, and walls adorned with hand-painted nature murals. Sink into the deep leather sofas and catch up over drinks, break bread at the dining table, or light the log-burning stove for snuggly evenings in front of the Smart TV.
When it’s finally time to turn in, you’ll have two elegant bedrooms to choose from: one with a kingsize bed, the other a superking that can also be converted to two singles if needed.
As the sun makes its slow ascent into the morning sky, why not indulge in a yoga or meditation session on your deck, to a soothing soundtrack of birdsong and rustling leaves? If you opted for the master bedroom, you could simply relax on your balcony deck over morning coffee, instead.

What the guests of Meadow Hide at Oakwood West Holidays say
“We had a lovely weekend stay in Meadow Hide. It was cosy, clean and well equipped. The hot tub was a great bonus plus the swings! The setting was so peaceful but was close to lots of things to do. Will definitely come back another time.”
“This was our second stay at Meadow Hide and it was just as lovely as the first. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable the owners really have provided everything you could need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. During some inclement weather we enjoyed sitting under the covered veranda off the main bedroom and also enjoyed some calm evenings in the hot tub watching the deer wander past and catching glimpses of owls. There are a lot of things to do in the local area and Meadow Hide is a welcome place to return to at the end of the day.”
“We found Meadow Hide to be a very relaxing, comfortable escape from our hectic lifestyle. Watching the deer graze, play and wander through the meadow was magical along with the foxes and birdlife. The property was very clean and the welcoming bubbles and chocolate a thoughtful gesture. The dogs also enjoyed their doggy treats. Whiling away time in the hot tub was a treat following walks through the local woods having had a pint in a local pub. The information sent prior to departure was very informative and the warm welcome received shortly after arrival was helpful. Would certainly recommend staying at Meadow Hide.”
