Perfectly located close to the Moray Firth coastline and Scotland’s magical Castle Country, Mayen Estate is a historic, family-run estate that spans 700 private acres.
Here you can picnic in the two-acre Walled Garden, fish in the glistening River Deveron, or simply watch the resident sheep and wildlife – including deer, hares, and diverse bird species – going about their day.
You’ll also have a sublime selection of self-catering accommodation to choose from, giving you the opportunity to retreat to slow living. Ideal for a romantic couple, MidPark A-Frame is a bespoke rural retreat within contemporary stylings.
A soaring glass apex invites you to get up close and personal with the surrounding nature, as the Scandi-style wood-burning stove encourages snuggly evenings in. You’ll also have a king-size bed to curl up in… before delicious pizza cooked al fresco and a stargazing soak in your private hot tub.
Built in 1788, The Guardhouse is an elegant Georgian escape that breathes with historic tales. A listed building decorated with well-chosen antique furniture, this is an exquisite retreat that’s perfect for a couple celebrating something special.
There’s a piano and a freestanding roll-top bath to help you while away lazy afternoons, while the garden features a full outdoor kitchen and a hot tub for impeccably stylish sunset-watching.
Meanwhile, The Pheasantry is a traditional granite cottage that once served as the laundry to Mayen House, newly transformed into a charming family-friendly retreat. Adjacent to the Walled Garden, you can enjoy truly beautiful morning views and, of course, there’s a hot tub to help you unwind in the evenings!
