Mayen Estate is a vast, historic family-run estate dating as far back to 1788, with cosy cottages, hot tubs, and outdoor kitchens. Perfectly located close to the rugged Moray Firth Coast and in the heart of Scotland’s Whisky Trail and Magical Castle Country, there’ll be plenty to see and do.

Wake up to the sound of peaceful birdsong, with perfect tranquillity and stunning Deveron Valley surroundings to help you escape from the everyday world.  Walk through the estate’s arboretum and historic rock gardens down to the river, enjoy picnics in the stunning Walled Garden, fish in the glistening River Deveron, embrace stunning skyscapes or simply watch the resident Highland Coos and wildlife going about their day.

You’ll also have a sublime selection of self-catering accommodation to choose from, giving you the opportunity escape from the world and retreat to slow living.

Ideal for a romantic couple, Midpark A-Frame Cabin is a bespoke rural retreat with contemporary styling.  A soaring glass apex invites you to get up close and personal with nature, with adorable lambs in the spring and beautiful Highland Coos to greet you each morning.  You’ll also have a king-sized bed to curl up in, after enjoying pizzas cooked al fresco and savouring a stargazing soak in your private hot tub.

Sleeping up to four guests and boasting with beautifully hand-painted box beds, Fairytale Butlers Cottage is a traditional Scottish Highland cottage with designer furnishings, panoramic Deveron Valley views, and nature right on your doorstep (including Highland Coo neighbours!).  Enjoy dining outside by the barbecue, pizza parties and stargazing in the hot tub as squirrels and birds visit the garden.

The Pheasantry is at the heart of Mayen Estate, overlooking the walled gardens with butterfly meadows and of course the River Deveron just a stone’s throw away. With the children free to explore the gardens, free-range hens providing the eggs for breakfast, and a view of the formal gardens from the bedroom window, The Pheasantry is an idyllic Highland retreat for the whole family.

Last but by no means least, Bailies Cottage offers the ultimate in family-friendly self-catering! Set in an enclosed garden, there’s a large family kitchen, bathroom, barbecue, and hot-tub-equipped al fresco space.  Meanwhile, crisp cotton-dressed beds sleep up to six guests.  The cottage has been recently renovated to include a new kitchen, refreshed bedrooms, and a living space with new furnishings and upholstery – as well as the addition of a downstairs en-suite bathroom.
