Warmly welcoming dogs and horses – and boasting outstanding facilities for both – there’s no need for anyone to stay behind when holidaying at Logie Newton Farm.
Along with a range of animals including ponies, alpacas, and sheep, the 750-acre farm is home to the Cruickshank family, which has farmed there since the 19th century. Secluded in peaceful Aberdeenshire countryside, there’s a soothing feeling of time turning gently back, as you gaze across open fields to the Bennachie hills beyond.
Eager to share the natural beauty and tranquillity of her family’s farm with guests, owner Louise set to work on creating two luxurious lodges, with a little help from a skilled team that included her husband Mike, a professional joiner.
The sumptuous results are Bennachie, which is perfect for a couple or two friends, and Woodland, ideal for a larger group of up to six. Each lodge features a private hot tub and a barbecue firepit, for sizzling suppers that lead into long, laughter-fuelled evenings under the stars.
You’ll also have an enclosed garden and scenic decking with south-facing views of farmland and horse paddocks, across to the rolling hills – an ideal spot for morning coffee as the sun rises, birds sing, and nature slowly comes to life.
Inside await downy beds (there’s a kingsize bedroom and a double sofa bed in Bennachie, with an additional superking or twin in Woodland) and all the high-end facilities you could want for a relaxed self-catering stay… including a dishwasher, a 50-inch Smart TV, luxury Scottish toiletries, and fluffy robes.
Dogs are well catered-for too, with a doggy welcome hamper, toiletries and treats ready and waiting, along with a secure dog park to play in on site. They’ll even have their very own ‘Pawsome Picks’ guide especially crafted by Ozzie, the family’s lovable red fox Labrador – whom you may get to meet during your stay!

More information
If you’ve brought your horse along for a well-deserved break, take them out to explore the magnificent farm tracks, bordered by lush grass field. In spring, woodland trails offer an opportunity for invigorating hacks soundtracked by birdsong and whispering leaves.
In the mood to discover? Your lodge’s secure storage shed means there’s no excuse not to bring your bikes, golf clubs, and outdoor gear along. Meanwhile, your outdoor wash bay makes short work of muddy boots, bikes and dogs – leaving you free to roam far and wide. Cyclists will rejoice in the site’s Bike Bliss guide (Louise is an avid road cyclist herself!) which is packed with pre-planned, scenic Aberdeenshire routes from five to 100 miles or more.
You could cycle – or walk – the 41-mile-long Deeside Way, taking in a patchwork array of rugged cliffs, dunes, and deserted beaches. Head to Bennachie, a mere 20-minute drive from the farm, and climb Mither Tap, or immerse yourselves in the area’s fascinating history and heritage.
Otherwise, take a tour of the nearby Glenlivet Distillery (to which the farm supplies malting barley), play golf on a wide array of courses… or simply stay on site and spot diverse species of wildlife, from wandering deer to soaring ospreys.
For an indulgent treat, book a wellness session with Gillian, the farm’s on-site wellbeing guru who works with humans and animals alike, to complete your unforgettable stay at Logie Newton Lodges.
Things to note
Please note that while Bennachie can sleep up to four guests if using the double sofa bed, it is best suited for two. Equine facilities are available from April to September. Please contact the property owner to arrange horse accommodation outside of this period. A communal EV car charging point is available. Both lodges have EPC rating A. STL licence number AS-01132-F

What the guests of Logie Newton Lodges say
“My family and I had the most wonderful break here, staying in the Woodland Lodge. This lodge stands out more than any other we’ve visited. The views are spectacular! We managed to see the northern lights, thanks to a little guidance from Louise, otherwise I’m not sure we would have managed! We used the hot tub every day and the temp was perfect. We toasted marshmallows on the BBQ fire pit at sunset which was amazing. Our dog was made to feel as welcome as us which is important to us. We will definitely return, hopefully soon!”
“We were lucky enough to be the first guests staying at the Woodland Lodge, which sleeps six. The Lodge is a beautiful build with a beautiful view. It is peaceful with large windows looking out over the countryside….bliss. The Lodge is very well furnished with some wonderful little welcoming touches, such as a welcome basket for its four legged guests. The beds are very comfortable with superior bedding resulting in a wonderful night’s sleep. All in all, we had a wonderful stay here and would recommend the lodges to anyone wanting a touch of luxury and a peaceful stay in the countryside.”
“Thoroughly enjoyed staying at the lodge this weekend. Fully utilised the hot tub and was able to take in the views over a few drams. Stunning location; well kitted out place. Louise was very friendly and approachable – I was particularly grateful that she was able to accommodate a later check out. I will absolutely be back to this wonderful spot!”
