If Laurel Canyon Box House looks familiar, it could be that you’ve seen it somewhere before. The last house to be snapped by the famed American architectural photographer Julius Shulman, a print of this incredible six-person home has been exhibited worldwide, and has featured in numerous architectural magazines.

You’ll see why just as soon as you arrive. The house juts proudly over the imposing hills, high above Los Angeles with superlative views of Laurel Canyon all around. Constructed almost entirely of glass, you won’t miss a moment of the invigorating scenery – inside or out.

Meanwhile, thoughtful design touches ensure you’ll feel soothed and relaxed almost immediately. A meditative walk up the 52 entrance steps brings you to a gently bubbling fountain at the front entrance. What better way to arrive at your new holiday home?

Inside, you’ll find plenty of welcoming, open-plan spaces flooded with natural light. The living area comprises a luxurious 2,214 square feet, with teak walls, bamboo flooring and cosy furnishings. On sunny afternoons, you can even fold away the windows and turn the entire living area into an open patio.

Meanwhile, the impressive kitchen and dining area features Gaggenau and Subzero appliances, including a central island, a five-burner gas range and a wine fridge – oh, and not forgetting that all-important coffee maker!

The second level is home to three generous bedrooms. The master suite is one to claim for yourself, with its wall-to-wall valley views and spa-esque ensuite that features a jetted infinity tub and opulent walk-in shower.

The two additional bedrooms are drenched in style, with queen beds and direct patio access for that morning coffee. These rooms are individually-themed, one in surf-style and the other as a music room, and both share a luxurious bathroom.

What the guests of Laurel Canyon Box House say

“Simply put, this house is a work of art in every respect. From the jaw-dropping architecture, to the incredible interior design and features, to the perfect furnishings, to the breathtaking views, this is the most beautiful and inspiring location that I’ve ever stayed in Los Angeles. The location is somehow both central and secluded, providing a quiet and private retreat from the bustle of the big city. My family and I loved staying here and would return anytime we are in LA. I will likely try to stay here for business travel as well as it would be an ideal place to be productive and creatively inspired, literally surrounded by such beauty. This house is truly wonderful and I give it my strongest possible recommendation for families, business travelers, and especially artists.”

“I booked The Box House for a client who was in town for several days of work (with a little time for relaxation mixed in). From my first interaction with the owner Matt, to the time of check out, I had nothing but a great and positive experience. Matt and his staff were attentive, respectful, and always friendly. I knew that my client would not only have a comfortable stay because the house is simply STUNNING but also because I know its guests are treated with respect and care. It served as a perfect place to come to after a long day of work. To quote my client: “This house is INSANE. THANK YOUUU.” I would certainly recommend it for anyone looking to experience the beauty and hospitality of LA. Thanks for everything, Matt and friends!”

“Our stay exceeded any and all expectations I had, it was AMAZING! The location and views are gorgeous. Clean, very well maintained, and great service too. I love how close it is to shopping, restaurants, and hiking yet feels private and far away at the same time. I would Highly recommend it to all my friends and family members. Can’t wait to return for another awesome vacation.”
