Beautifully positioned between Falmouth Bay and the Lizard Peninsula, the shimmering Helford River is one of Cornwall’s most treasured and unspoilt locations.
At the river’s head lies the enchanting village of Gweek, where husband-and-wife team Patrick and Maddie Spink moved in 2014. The fresh surroundings captured their hearts so much, that they set about creating a sumptuous treehouse retreat in the fields and woodlands above their family home.
Thanks to a friendly team of local tradespeople, close friends, and family, Skapya and Kalmynsi (Cornish words for “escape” and “calm” respectively) were then brought mesmerisingly to life. Daskor, or “restore”, will be available from summer 2025.
Crafted from fine wood to a bespoke crescent-shaped design, and generously spaced apart for privacy, each treehouse is bursting with comforts – including clean-lined Scandi-style interior design and opulent self-contained facilities – to elevate your tree-scape to brand-new levels of luxury!
Perfect for romantic couples, Skapya is set amongst a whispering canopy of mature oak, beech, and ash trees. Relax on the cedar balcony to morning coffee with the neighbouring birds, or evening fizz to a backdrop of soft owl’s hoots. Inside await delights including a dreamy Ekol log burner, and a fabulous drenching rainfall shower with locally hand-made organic toiletries, to bring a refreshing start to your day.
Spend lazy evenings in your very own ‘secret’ clearing next to an ancient bluebell wood – where you’ll find a warming firepit to toast marshmallows around, and a log-fired Dutch Loveseat hot tub to stargaze from.
Kalmynsi, meanwhile, is a dog-friendly treehouse-for-two that comes with its very own deep seat log-fired hot tub, situated within a dedicaated area with seating and a chiminea – the perfect spot to unwind after a busy day’s sightseeing.

More information
Crack open the bottle of Prosecco from your indulgent welcome hamper and relax on the designer sofa (or the Big Bertha beanbag, whichever takes your fancy!) After an energising shower, wrap yourselves in the fluffy robes provided and say hello to the resident bird life out on your private balcony.
Daskor, meanwhile, was bespoke-designed by Maddie’s dad and crafted from locally-grown chestnut. Perfect for a small family, the treehouse sleeps up to five guests in two kingsize double beds, with well-behaved dogs also welcome. Light the freestanding Jotul woodburner and choose your in-tree entertainment from the sleek Samsung Frame TV (‘Art Mode’ allows to select a famous masterpiece as a grand backdrop!) or fire up the record player for an old-school soundtrack.
Daskor is secluded in the one-acre-woodland newly created by Patrick and Maddie, so there’s plenty of scope for strolling, playing, and picnicking… with a dip in your gorgeous al fresco stone bath as an evening treat later on.
Regardless of which treehouse you’ve opted for, you’ll have three lush acres of field to explore… as well as a myriad of amazing countryside walks. Wander to the local pub and café, or take a romantic boat trip along the river (you can kayak or paddle-board if you prefer something a little more strenuous!)
Gweek is also home to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary; a magical way to spend some time before returning to your very own sanctuary at Kosel Treehouses.
Things to note
Check in at 3pm, check out by 10am. Please note the hot tubs are heated by a log fire. Depending on the ambient temperature it can take 1-2 hrs to heat the water. Daskor will be available to book from summer 2025.

What the guests of Kosel Treehouses say
“We absolutely loved the space you have created in the trees. I had no idea that spending time in the trees could be so relaxing! It was incredible. It’s such a wonderful spot you’ve got there and the outside bath amongst the bluebells was an added bonus. It totally blew us away.”
“A wonderful treetop escape for just shy of a week to celebrate 7 years of being together. We made use of the self catered facilities, the hidden hot tub and fire pit, the balcony for early mornings and star gazing at night and the wood burner. We enjoyed the location of the site and having the whole grounds to ourselves whilst we were away.”
“Perfect location. The treehouse was stunningly appointed, clean, fresh and modern – everything there you need for a relaxing break away from it all.”
