If King Arthur’s Cabin looks familiar, you may have seen it before: on the Channel Four/Netflix documentary Cabins in the Wild, perhaps.
A true outdoor lover’s paradise, the award-winning retreat is perfectly positioned near the gateway to Snowdonia National Park, with panoramic, breath-taking mountain views and Glyndŵr’s Way – one of just three national trails in Wales – join-able from the doorstep.
The cabin is also ideal for a romantic couple, with a comfy sofa that transforms into a sumptuous kingsize bed at the touch of a button, James Bond-style. Enormous windows mean you can keep a close eye on those incredible south Eryri (Welsh for “snowdonia”) mountain views whatever the time, and whatever the weather.
In fact, you could even find yourselves willing on a storm, just so you can light the woodburner, whip up a mug of hot chocolate, snuggle on that sofa… and feel the cosiest you’ve ever felt.
Facilities-wise, there’s a generously-equipped kitchenette for relaxed mealtimes, and you’ll even be provided with a welcome basket of Welsh delicacies to get your stay off to a delicious start. There’s also an en-suite rainfall shower to help you freshen up after a long day exploring the local area or doing absolutely nothing: you decide.
What else? Well, there’s always the option of unwinding outside on sunny days, accompanied by a glass of wine and a good book. Don’t pick a riveting bestseller, though, as you’re bound to be distracted by those magnificent views of Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy as you try to stay focused on the plot!
Stay out on the elevated patio as the sun sinks gently behind the mountains, and light the firepit as the stars begin to appear in the night sky. It’s an idyllic setting for marshmallow-toasting, storytelling, and deep conversation, blissfully unburdened by the noise and to-do lists that punctuate the everyday.
