Taking a well-deserved break at Inverlonan is to immerse yourselves in the very best of Scotland… from the finest craftsmanship and the freshest produce, to the most breath-taking natural scenery. Also awaiting you are sumptuous experiences and fresh-air activities that all add up to an unforgettable escape.
Accommodation comprises three remote, off-grid bothies. Two are named Uisge and Beatha – pronounced oosh-ka and bay-ah for those who don’t speak Gaelic! – which are words that combine to form the meaning ‘Water of Life’. Last but by no means least, Sitheil (she-eel) translates as ‘peaceful’.
The bothies are adults-only retreats, and one, Beatha, is dog-friendly.
You’ll see exactly how the bothies were named when you cast your gaze over their tranquil and mesmerising surroundings, which take in the vast, shimmering waters of Loch Nell, and ancient oak trees that evoke memories of childhood fairytales.
Indeed, the striking, architect-designed bothies are so blissfully remote, that you’ll only be able to access them by boat, foot, or buggy. Once you step inside, you’ll be greeted by a soul-soothing space that’s been styled and furnished with fine attention to detail.
Local artisans and craftspeople have filled each bothy with natural fabrics, furniture and accessories, for a unique sense of rural luxury. Sink into Scandi-style sofas crafted from soft Scottish wool, as you trail your bare feet across hand-made rugs from the Isle of Skye. Meanwhile, the walls are adorned with gleaming mirrors, and wood-created artwork.

More information
This is off-grid luxury, of course, so you’ll find no Wi-Fi or mains electricity here. But who needs those, when huge windows showcase that incredible scenery to perfection?
Use the indoor oven, or whip up tempting feasts on the firepit and outdoor wood-fired pizza oven instead. If you’re in the mood for an extra treat, you can order a locally-sourced barbecue box, or take your tastebuds on a fairytale journey with a magical eight-course private dining experience.
Curated by a talented Michelin-trained chef and staged in a secret location, you’ll savour the freshest seasonal ingredients, expertly cooked on a crackling open fire, and surrounded by scenic paradise.
Meanwhile, facilities-wise your bothy is home to an odour-free eco-loo, and you’ll find an al fresco shower on your private deck, for a truly magical freshening-up experience. There’s also a dreamy, bespoke-designed lochside wood-burning sauna that’s exclusive to bothy guests… why not book a half-day session and lose yourselves in complete sensory luxury?
After a spot of stargazing and a sound night’s sleep in your downy kingsize bed, say hello to the morning with a locally sourced ‘Farm to Bothy’ breakfast and a mug of fresh coffee… and then it’s time to explore!
If you’re not in the mood to travel too far, you could begin with a wild swim in the loch, then indulge in a spot of fishing, or simply watch the white-tailed eagles swooping overhead.
With the local area so rich in history and wildlife, why not get out and take a closer look? There are stone circles, ancient burial grounds and cup-marked stones to discover, all within a 2km walk. Or take a kayak or stand-up paddle board (both provided, along with lifejackets!) across to the Rubha na Moine Crannog, an ancient fortified dwelling in the middle of the loch.
With golf, Caledonia Way cycling, and friendly pubs all within reach too, it could be a while before you’re back to prepare yourselves a sizzling supper! Just make sure you’ve got plenty of time to catch that awe-inspiring sunset, and all will be well.
