Elevated on the Norfolk town’s iconic striped cliffs, Hunstanton Lookout is a former lighthouse building… which means spectacular sea views are a given!

The fresh coastal retreat sleeps up to eight guests in four bedrooms, each boasting en-suite facilities that mean no-one will have to queue for the bathroom. Up to three well-behaved dogs are also welcome, so nobody has to stay behind at home.

Warm and welcoming throughout, the soft-toned first-floor living space complements that amazing sea-nery to perfection, with a deep L-shaped sofa to view it from… and a telescope for stargazing later on. There’s a Smart TV, too, for snuggling up with an evening movie all together.

You’ll find the kitchen a joy to cook in, with gleaming modern appliances and a breakfast bar for chatting over morning coffee, or keeping the chef company with a glass of wine. The large dining table, meanwhile, is perfect for those long, laughter-fuelled meals that holidays are made for.

If the sun is shining, enjoy a barbecue feast on the patio, or simply grab a cuppa and a good book and relax on the balcony awhile, to an invigorating backdrop of fresh air and a soundtrack of cawing seagulls.

Also situated on the first floor, the superking bedroom is ideal for those who just can’t tear themselves away from those views! You’ll have an en-suite shower room to freshen up in, too, while the rest of the bedrooms (a second superking and two doubles) are cosily nestled on the ground floor. Both superking rooms can be made into twins on request, to suit diverse group stays.

Keys to the lighthouse tower are available at the retreat, and you’ll be welcome to climb the winding stairs (at your own risk) and savour far-reaching views that seem to stretch out forever. Otherwise, simply let the kids and dogs loose in the spacious enclosed garden as you finally breathe out and relax!

If you’re in the mood to explore, the beach at ‘Sunny Hunny’ – the residents’ affectionate name for Hunstanton! – is less than half a mile away: an awe-inspiring setting for watching those gorgeous west coast sunsets. Follow the Norfolk Coast Path for breezy clifftop walks, or keep things retro and visit traditional seaside attractions: amusements, an aquarium, and seafront gardens for afternoon strolls.

Stock up on fresh produce at the town’s weekly markets, tee off at the local golf clubs, or when the weather is fine, arrange a boat trip to visit the grey and common seals that populate the nearby shoals… a treat for wildlife enthusiasts.
