  • Minimum stay: 2-3 nights

House Martin Cabin is an ideal base for exploring Devon at its beautiful best: a mere half-hour away from the sweeping coast, and a stone’s throw from Dartmoor National Park. Yet if all you want to do is relax, reconnect, and revel in the beauty of nature right where you are, you’re in the perfect place.

You’ll find the luxurious cabin on a family-run glamping site, tucked away beyond the orchard for a delicious feeling of seclusion. Sleeping up to four guests (with extra space for a travel cot if needed) it’s an idyllic setting for a family getaway – you’re welcome to bring your dogs along, too!

Inside awaits a natural light-filled sitting room, complete with a wood-burner for chilly evenings, a cosy sofa, and a window seat for curling up with a good book… if you’re not too distracted by those incredible rural views, that is. A selection of in and outdoor games are also provided for whole-family entertainment.

If the sun is shining, why not head through the bifold doors and out to the elevated deck instead? Grab a deck chair and savour a chilled glass of something lovely, against a mesmerising soundtrack of birdsong and gently rustling leaves.

Stay outside as day morphs into evening and prepare a sizzling barbecue supper on the firepit, or cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen. Here you’ll find everything you need for family feasts, along with a ready supply of speciality tea, cafetière coffee, and hot chocolate.

(In the mood for foodie treats? A range of local-produce hampers can be ordered before or during your stay, including a full English breakfast, sparkling wine, and an earthy South African stew made especially for the firepit).

Watch the stars appear in the night sky from the comfort of your wood-fired hot tub, then wrap up in the comfy dressing gowns provided to prepare yourselves for a sound night’s sleep. The kingsize bedroom, plus a bunk room for the kids, will be ready and waiting with soft lighting and fresh linens.
