Lovingly created by a family of dedicated builders and architects, it’s fair to say that a visit to Hapuku Lodge and Treehouses will be imbued with some of the most spectacular scenery you can see – both in and out of your stunning accommodation!
Exceptionally friendly both to guests and the environment (tree planting, recycling and use of responsibly sourced timber are everyday features), life at Hapuku Lodge and Treehouses is set off by its amazing location, within a deer breeding farm on New Zealand’s South Island.
Found at the base of Kaikoura’s famed Seaward Mountain Range, and with the renowned Mangamaunu Bay’s high rolling waves achingly near, those looking for a natureful holiday with plenty of scenic coastal drama will have truly found their paradise here.
Steeped in childhood fantasy – along with plenty of added comfort and luxury! – the Lodge’s five unique and expertly designed treehouses are discovered among the leaves, ten metres above ground in a sweet-scented Kanuka grove. You’ll find three one-bedroom and two ‘family’ treehouses, each with two bedrooms and a private bathroom with rainfall shower. All feature hand-crafted furniture and large, luxurious windows that let in floods of natural light and truly bring the outdoors, indoors.
Relax and gaze out over endless views of tree canopies, rugged mountain ranges and the rolling waves of the Pacific Ocean as you enjoy a glass of bubbles on your private balcony – what bliss!
A cosy and efficient fireplace will keep everybody cosy by evening, and when it’s time to turn in, what better than to fall asleep amongst the stars? A mini bar and Jacuzzi are wonderfully opulent extras you may not expect to find in an average treehouse, providing the perfect excuse to indulge.
If life amongst the leaves isn’t quite your thing, the Lodge rooms consist of naturally decadent suites that feature soaking tubs and downy king-sized beds, with balconies that look over the farm’s deer grazing paddocks, and out to the Kaikoura mountains.
