You’ll find Greenleaves Mull on the sweeping west coast of Scotland, overlooking Loch Scridain on the Isle of Mull. Surrounded by mountainous, soul-stirring scenery and pure air, it’s a dreamlike escape into nature.
The 13-acre, family-run croft is home to owners Philip and Celia. They spent their first years here living in a caravan as they built their house, brought the land back to life through sustainable, chemical-free gardening, and watched their children play in the native hazel woodland.
Today, guests are welcome to stay in that very same caravan… now lovingly transformed into the cosy, light-filled Lazy Daisy Lodge! The expertly-crafted lodge is ideal for a small family, with two bedrooms (one double and one twin with full-size single beds) and an open-plan, timber-lined living space warmed by a wood-burning stove.
Generous facilities include a well-equipped kitchenette, and an electric shower to freshen up in – and you’ll even have a washing machine to help with those wild and wonderful days of rambling in nature. Oh, and the balcony is a joy to spend some much-needed downtime on… especially over morning coffee, soundtracked by birdsong.
If it’s just you and your loved one (or indeed, just you), the Off Grid Hut is a blissfully calm, wood-panelled haven with a double bed and a warming stove; nestled on the edge of native hazel woodland that’s unique to this mesmerising part of the world.
Watch grazing red deer through the window, or cradle a glass of wine outside as the sun sinks behind the hills beyond, with no digital interruptions or electronic distractions. It’s just you and nature – the perfect combination. Meanwhile, a separate kitchen and shower hut, together with a composting tree bog, mean you’ll have all the facilities you could possibly need.
Once you’ve settled into your chosen retreat, you’re very welcome to explore your new surroundings at your own leisure. Perhaps you’ll meet Philip and Celia’s collection of hens! There’s a bùth beag (small shop) on site, from which you can buy fresh eggs, and seasonal garden produce.

Things to note
Up to two well-behaved dogs are permitted to stay at each retreat. However, please note that the Off Grid hut will feel small with two large dogs. Please note that both retreats feature steps to access (one at Lazy Daisy Lodge and several at the Off Grid Hut) and steps to the composting toilets. Longer-term stays can be agreed, and there are occasional opportunities to stay in exchange for helping on the croft – please see the property website for details.
