Inspired by the owners’ fond memories of residing in the American West, Gold Rush Cabin pays homage to the stories of those wide-eyed dreamers who went in search of gold in them thar hills!
You’ll discover the rough-hewn timber haven deep in the English West: the “perfect pastoral idyll” that is Westley Farm, to be exact. Comprising 70 spectacular acres of lush Cotswolds countryside, the farm is conveniently located just over an hour away from central London by train.
Featured in renowned publications such as the Times and the Observer, the accommodation you’ll find here is eco-friendly and sustainably focused, with emphasis on encouraging wildlife to thrive. As such, you never know whom you’ll spot from one day to the next… from foxes and owls to soaring kestrels and rare butterflies.
Just perfect for a prospectin’ couple and their faithful hound, the quirky Gold Rush Cabin features an antique wood-burning stove for evening huddles in comfy cow-hide chairs.
Rustic, Wild-West-themed furniture includes cosy throws aplenty, an enormous sheepskin rug, and authentic accessories from the owners’ travels that include wooden grenade boxes from the Gold Rush and Californian saw blades.
The large, furnished deck will feel as though you’re relaxing on your very own ranch. There’s a well-equipped camp kitchen that boasts a cast iron gas burner… and a barbecue for sizzlin’ sunset suppers (in fact, why not treat yourselves to a mouth-watering Westley Farm Barbecue Box for good measure?)
Meanwhile the cowboy shower, with its tin walls and watering-can shower head, has to be experienced at least once, and there’s even a Western Red cedar wood-fired hot tub to help you welcome the stars in that big ol’ night sky.

What the guests of Gold Rush Cabin say
“Gold rush cabin was idyllic. The sound of the owls at night, the peace and tranquility. Get away from it all but still with all the home comforts. The cabin was comfy and cosy, the hot tub was great and the outdoor shower just topped it off. Thankyou to Ali for popping down to check we had everything we needed. The woodland ,the horses and cattle. The 20min walk to the pub a little longer if you get lost amongst all the wonderful trails!(5 mins in the car) and the security (not able to escape) for the pup who loved the freedom to run in the fields and eat rabbit poop. We will be back soon.”
“Me and my husband spent a short 2 night getaway in the Goldrush cabin with our 4 chihuahuas. It was the most magical, chilled out getaway we could have asked for. Set amongst the trees with walks straight from the door and plenty of amazing places to sit in the surrounding area – we had an absolutely blissful time. We cannot wait to return for another visit!”
“Wow what a amazing setting. We were totally blown away with the Gold Rush Cabin. From start to finish we had a lovely time, didn’t matter that it was raining on one of the days and after coming back from Stow then lighting the log burner in Cabin with twinkle lights felt heavenly. The facilities were again amazing Dan and Ali had thought of everything. The hot tub was lovely. The cooking facilities were great. My favourite thing was the water can shower fabulous idea. The food we ordered to be at cabin when we arrived was lovely. Thanks again we will definitely be back!”
