an idyllic retreat at the foot of the breathtaking Brecon Beacons.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be captivated. The farm is perfectly situated on the banks of the River Usk, and surrounded by the Brecon Beacons. It’s hard to picture a more heavenly setting for walking, cycling…or simply relaxing.
Each of the three spacious lodges (Goshawk, Buzzard and Dove – named after native birds) is individually styled for comfort. Goshawk and Buzzard are ideal for families, sleeping up to six people in three bedrooms. Dove is a bit smaller, making it perfect for a couple or a small family.
The luxury canvas lodges are furnished with sumptuous beds, Egyptian cotton bed linen, and charming furnishings. You’ll also find a well-equipped kitchen area and comfortable sitting area around the wood-burning stove. Just a few metres from each tent is a private shower room complete with fluffy towels and a flushing loo.
Outside, discover a firepit for that all-important marshmallow toasting under a starry sky, and your own private wood-fired hot tub – the ideal accompaniment for that bottle of bubbles!
Every last detail has been thought through to make sure you have the perfect stay. Order a delicious pre-prepared meal to heat up or pick up fresh ingredients at one of the local markets and prepare a feast on your hob or firepit. There’s plenty of firewood provided for your hot tub and firepit.
There are local guides, maps and some books and games supplied if you want to relax inside or on the deck. If birdwatching is your passion, you’re in luck. You’ll find binoculars along with a guide of local birds. There are plenty of varieties for you to spot, including red kites, herons and buzzards.
If it’s just the two of you, make sure you take advantage of the couple’s £100 discount per stay. It’s a wonderfully romantic spot – peaceful, back-to-nature and luxurious.

If you’re bringing the children, let them loose in the play area while you get lost in a good book – or how about a scrumping expedition in the farm’s community orchard?
With just about everything else taken care of, all that’s left to do is plan your days. Friendly owner Charles will be more than happy to give you a tour of the farm by arrangement, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet the resident cattle and perhaps even feed the lambs.
There’s walking and cycling for everyone, whether you want to take on the main peaks of the Beacons in an epic hike, cycle the toughest climbs in the UK or enjoy a meander along the canal. The buzzing village of Talybont-on-Usk is just a few minutes’ walk away, with a friendly village shop and three pubs and a good restaurant, along with a canal, sparkling waterfalls and a reservoir.
If you prefer exploring further afield, you’ll find some walking maps and activity ideas in your lodge (well, we did say every last detail had been thought about!)
