Situated in one of the most breath-taking natural environments in the UK, Leckmelm Wood is achingly close to Ullapool, a scenic fishing town that’s otherwise known as the “gateway to the Northern Highlands”.
Home to a wealth of whispering trees including Douglas Fir and Scots Pine, the 32-hectare site is teeming with diverse wildlife, offering a blissful escape from life’s everyday stresses and strains.
The friendly family owners have dedicated themselves to protecting their awe-inspiring environment for over 40 years. They live on-site in self-built timber cabins, and manage a range of forest-based organisations that are designed to engage the local community, enrich the woodland, and inspire healthier ways of living.
Custom-designed and lovingly crafted from local sustainable timber, Ecotone Cabins offer the perfect retreat for holidaymakers in search of an ethical, eco-friendly stay that’s rich in natural luxury.
Perfect for couples and small families alike, simply choose from Red Squirrel Cabin, which sleeps two guests, and Pine Marten Cabin, which sleeps up to four.
Whichever you opt for, you’ll look out over a mesmerising tableau of pure Scottish nature, whilst surrounding yourselves with comfort and convenience that’s specifically designed to keep your carbon footprint refreshingly light.
Insulated with toasty sheep’s wool and wood fibre, the stylish cabins are furnished with sustainably sourced materials and low-impact accessories wherever possible, and are powered by low energy heat pumps.
