A soothing coastal retreat with a Victorian railway carriage at its heart, perfect for families and friends and opening straight onto Pagham Beach.
  • Sleeps: 7
  • Bedrooms: 3
  • Bathrooms: 2
  • Minimum stay: 3 nights

Light, bright and cheerful, Driftwood Beach House is an idyllic, dog-friendly retreat for up to seven lucky guests.

Set directly on the beach in the historic West Sussex village of Pagham, shingle slopes will lead you straight to the shore, where you’ll find a gorgeous stretch of sand to lay those beach towels out on.

Driftwood Beach House is formed around an authentic Victorian railway carriage, so you can recreate those timeless seaside holidays past, whilst surrounding yourselves with plenty of holiday luxuries.

Decorated in a fresh and charming coastal style, there are three elegant bedrooms to choose from (one kingsize, one double with an extra single bunk – maximum of 85kg – and one twin). There’ll be no awkward morning ‘freshening-up’ queues to worry about when you wake up either, with a bathroom, shower room with working porthole, and a separate cloakroom with a loo all on hand.

Meanwhile, the kitchen is well-equipped for seafaring feasts, with an electric oven, and those all-important conveniences: a microwave and a dishwasher. Head out onto the decked patio to enjoy the fruits of your culinary labour, with the sounds of the sea as your background music.

Stay outside and catch the first stars appearing in the night sky, or retreat to the lounge for some TV and toe-warming in front of the crackling wood-burner – both options are just as delightful!

After a sound night’s sleep, it’s time to enjoy the day ahead.  There’s plenty of storage for your bikes, paddleboards and kayaks if needed, and there’s even a double kayak available for you to use if you’re in an adventurous mood and fancy paddling round the historic Mulberry Harbour.

If you’re more of a ‘coffee-and-a-chat’ kind of holidayer, you’ll find a fabulous beach café and ice cream parlour within a short stroll, along with a selection of pubs to while away some time in…and not forgetting, of course, a traditional fish and chip shop! There’s also a retro penny amusement arcade to help keep the kids entertained.

Yacht enthusiasts can head for Pagham Yacht Club, where regular races are held, or wander into the village to visit the Norman church and the spectacular RSPB nature reserve – a true bird-spotter’s paradise!

With first-class comfort, relaxation, and entertainment all on offer at Driftwood Beach House, we can only say one thing: all aboard!
