A charmingly hand-built cabin that's dog-friendly, off-grid, and set in an idyllic Welsh meadow corner, achingly close to historic Cardigan.
  • Sleeps: 2
  • Bedroom: 1
  • Bathroom: 1
  • Minimum stay: 3 nights

It’s easy to feel that you’ve entered your own private paradise, as you make your way to the soothing meadow corner that’s home to Den by the Stream.

Impossibly calm and outrageously lovely, the off-grid cabin-for-two is beautifully positioned by a rippling stream (hence the name) and surrounded by woodland and birdsong.

Put simply, you won’t be able to stop yourselves from feeling utterly at peace!

Dog-friendly and secluded (there is no other accommodation on the site), you can sit back and enjoy your natural surroundings, from the eco-friendly comfort of your rural retreat. And with features like a harvested rainwater shower, solar lighting, and organic toiletries – not to mention no distracting TV or Wi-Fi – you can relax and reconnect without worrying about your carbon footprint.

That’s not to say you’ll be lacking in luxury. The spacious, light-filled cabin is well furnished and comfy with lots of carefully thought out little touches, and the wood-burner ensures the Den remains warm and cosy at any time of year. By day you can gaze out of the huge windows – revelling in that amazing scenery, whatever the weather. By night relax back on the rotating star-gazer bed and be awed by the star-filled sky.

There’s a hand-crafted, fairylight-strewn four poster bed to curl up in at night, and a small-yet-perfectly-formed kitchen corner, stocked with everything you need (translation: you can pack light!) Oh, and you won’t be making any midnight field dashes to the loo, since your bathroom is handily connected to the Den by a rustic barn door.

As if all that wasn’t quite enough, you’ll also be equipped with plenty of fluffy blankets, board games, puzzles and books to keep you company…

Where you'll be staying

Cardigan, Ceredigion

What the guests of Den by the Stream say

‘What a peaceful weekend. Just what the doctor ordered! The place is a little bit of heaven. The weather was amazing to us, we used everything and can suggest nothing. The stars were a priceless picture. The log fire made the den cosy and warm. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back and frankly we don’t want to leave. The place is perfect.’

‘Our first visit to Ceredigion and we’ll definitely be back. ‘Den by the Stream’ was everything promised on the website, but we were quite unprepared for the peaceful beauty of the location. Despite changeable weather we were happy to remain in situ for much of our week. Yoga and cycling our only exercise! Linda and Phil were wonderful hosts, ensuring that we had everything we needed. Highly recommended.’

‘Our second visit, and it didn’t disappoint. The weather was hit and miss, but who cares! All sorts of birds – finches, tits, wrens, robins, woodpeckers, red kite. Phil the squirrel bouncing off the shower roof in the morning… Altogether a delight. Scrabble round the fire in the evening. The place is amazing – do we HAVE to go home?’
