An exquisite collection of restored cave houses to suit every taste, set on an historic farm site in the rural heart of Granada.
  • Sleeps: 2-6
  • Bedrooms: 6 units
  • Bathroom: Varies
  • Minimum stay: 3 nights (high season)

Surrounded by the majestic peaks of Sierra Nevada, mesmerising red clay hills, desert landscapes and lush forest, Cuevas La Granja is a Spanish escape with a canvas worthy of a timeless oil painting.

A complex of 18 stunningly restored, self-contained cave houses on a 19th century farm site, you’ll find each one true to its ancient character, with original paving, curved high ceilings, and well-chosen, rustic furnishings. Yet with the addition of WiFi and a flat screen TV, you can still enjoy those contemporary luxuries.

Choose from cave houses to suit couples, friends and families, from studio and one-bedroom caves with traditional chimneys, to full suites that feature a sumptuous hydro-massage bath tub.  Larger families can choose to stay in a superior cave house – one that includes two bedrooms, and two bathrooms – while one cave is dedicated to guests with reduced mobility.

All but one cave comes complete with a full kitchen, and you’ll also enjoy your own barbecue-equipped outdoor area, so you can cast your gaze across that contrasting, awe-inspiring landscape for as long as you like.

(Cuevas La Granja is certified as ‘Starlight Rural Accommodation’, meaning you’ll want to stay outside after supper and watch day turn into dark, twinkle-studded night).

As if all that wasn’t enough, you’ll find there’s plenty for everybody to see and do on the complex. The little ones are well taken care of, with an outdoor play area and Ludoteca, a dedicated children’s cave that’s filled with fun and entertainment.

Start by taking an invigorating forest walk, as you discover plenty of spots that are ideal for picnicking. There’s also a lookout for romantic sunset-watchers, and a relaxation area that’s perfect for a sunrise yoga session.
