Secluded in the quintessentially English village of Woolhope, Crown Inn is a traditional, family-run pub that boasts chocolate-box Herefordshire views and a warmly welcoming, down-to-earth atmosphere.
It’s exactly the kind of environment that makes you wish you could stay awhile longer, as you sup fresh-pressed local cider and devour delicious wood-fired pizzas. Happily, with a self-contained, eight-bedroom retreat directly connected to the pub, you can not only do just that, but also bring your favourite people along for a well-deserved break!
Sleeping up to 16 guests (up to two well-behaved dogs are also welcome), you’ll enter the retreat by a ‘secret’ door, for that gleeful sense of wonder. Once you’ve stepped inside, you’ll note how spacious and modern your new surroundings are… before it’s off to claim your favourite bedroom.
You’ll find two contenders – a double en-suite and a bunk room – conveniently situated on the ground floor, along with a shower room that features a heated towel rail for chilly mornings.
Also on the ground floor is the huge, sociable living, kitchen, and dining space… the setting for many laughter-fuelled moments all together. Along with plenty of comfy seating, there’s an app-ready Smart TV for entertainment, and a well-equipped kitchen for feast-preparation (though of course, you could always nip back into the pub for a hearty meal you didn’t have to cook!)
Head up to the first floor to discover the remaining six bedrooms: a convenient mix of bunk, double, king, and zip-and-link superking beds to suit groups of just about every description.
Oh, and with not one but three more bathrooms to choose from, there’ll be no need for midnight dashes or cross-legged morning queues.
