Casale tre gelsi is perfectly placed for guests to immerse themselves in the hidden Adriatic coastal gem of le Marche: a region in central Italy characterised by green hills, medieval hilltop towns, and fine natural produce.

The former farmhouse is beautifully nestled between the historic villages of Cingoli and Jesi, close to both the sea and idyllic mountain hiking routes. Expertly renovated by a local architect, here await private guest rooms, a saltwater pool, and beautiful natural gardens to relax in – perhaps accompanied by a book from the quadrilingual library!

The five farmhouse rooms and detached pool-house can be booked separately on a bed-and-breakfast basis, or all together in a self-catered stay for groups of up to 12 guests.

Each individually-named room boasts its own style and personality, for a fresh sense of charm. They feature fresh linen bedding made by a small family business, while views take in the garden’s ancient olive, fig and mulberry trees, towards the mountainous landscape of Monti Sibillini National Park.

Relax with your loved one on Cingoli’s private terrace, or admire Jesi’s urban décor from the comfort of a lazy lie-in. Senigallia boasts a soaring beamed ceiling, and Osimo sublime floor-to-ceiling windows. If you’re bringing more guests, Corinaldo has a second double bedroom (available to book separately), while the detached pool house Sirolo comes equipped with kitchen facilities and an optional served breakfast, for extra privacy.

After a sound night’s sleep, savour your walk to breakfast each morning, through countryside that sings with joyful bird life. Served under a large pergola with gentle hill views, you’ll be treated to bread baked by the owners themselves, along with a tempting array of fresh produce from the surrounding gardens and farms. Here, everything is local: even your coffee comes direct from the roasting-house next door.

If you choose to do nothing for the rest of the day but laze by the pool, or perhaps take a leisurely stroll through the orchard and vegetable gardens, that would be perfectly understandable! The owners are also more than happy to arrange relaxing massages, or reserve a table at one of the many wonderful restaurants in the region – from small, request-only farmhouses to Michelin-starred extravaganzas.

Yet if you feel like exploring, there’s plenty to capture your senses. The acclaimed Tenuta Tavignano winery is in walking distance, and wider le Marche right on the doorstep. Bursting with cultural heritage, there are over 30 castles and thousands of churches to discover… not to mention palaces, fortresses, towers and squares! As the owners say, le Marche is effectively a “great open-air museum”.

Don’t worry if you prefer a relaxing day at the beach, as there are plenty in easy driving distance. Combine a trip to the city of Senigallia with a stroll along the 12km white-sand beach, or laze at the Riviera del Conero, just outside Ancona, for a break that feels like heaven on earth.

The owners live on the property and serve breakfast themselves. Self-catering whole-site hire can be arranged for when they are away on holiday, please enquire for details. Sirolo is a separate pool house with self-contained kitchen facilities and optional breakfast.
