Casa Tiny is an immaculate, architect-crafted home for two, perfectly secluded on Mexico’s breathtaking Oaxacan coast, and achingly close to the surfers’ paradise of Puerto Escondido.

Henry David Thoreau’s masterpiece ‘Walden’, a classic reflection upon simple living in natural surroundings, served as the inspiration for creating Casa Tiny. From the moment you arrive, you’ll understand why.  

Remotely nestled within dense vegetation, and surrounded by jaw-dropping, expansive natural views, your setting just couldn’t be more ideal for disconnecting from the world and embracing the simple life.

Casa Tiny itself pays homage to America’s famed ‘tiny house’ movement, which involves creatively compact, pared-down living space that allows for greater sustainability.  

Expertly constructed from concrete and native honey-hued parota wood, the home consists of generous living space, a kitchen, a bathroom and a gloriously open mezzanine bedroom. There’s a magnificent feeling of secure, simple opulence as you wander around.

There are two concrete outdoor terraces to choose from, one featuring a private plunge pool, and the other extending beautifully out from the kitchen, in the form of a grand dining table. Running the entire length from the cooking area to the terrace, dining and relaxing (and if you choose to, working!) amongst nature is a breeze.

Of course, you might prefer lazing in the hammock by day, catching up on all that reading you never quite manage to get around to. The garden is also home to a brick pizza oven, perfect for balmy sunset-fired evenings.

Just a short walk from the garden, you’ll discover a deliciously secluded, unspoilt beach that you can enjoy completely to yourselves…surely this is as close to paradise as you’re ever likely to feel!

Hole yourselves up blissfully here, or if you feel like venturing out, you can enjoy an exclusive visit to the acclaimed Casa Wabi, a stunning seafront house and art centre designed by the Japanese master architect Tadao Ando.  

Casa Tiny’s friendly owners are also very happy to help with suggestions for activities in nearby Puerto Escondido, or the shimmering Laguna de Manialtepec. The Hotel Escondido is an ideal setting for a romantic dinner, should you feel like treating yourselves to something a little more special.

(If you’re a keen surfer, then you’re seriously in luck. One of the world’s best surfing beaches, Playa Zicatela, is well within reach!)

However you decide to spend your time, prepare to cocoon yourselves in natural luxury, as you seclude yourselves from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.
