Brownscombe Luxury Glamping is found on a family farm in the village of Compton, just a 15-minute drive inland from popular Torbay, close to Totnes. Surrounded by lush pastures, this countryside idyll is the perfect setting to unwind, relax and rejuvenate in a choice of three truly sensational glamping hideaways.

A wonderfully indulgent couple’s retreat or a perfectly enchanting family holiday, the Cabin showcases the undoubtedly glamorous side of glamping. Set in its own private location beside a barley field with endless valley views, you’ll feel like the world’s your very own in this secret hideaway.

The attention to detail is exceptional, with no luxury overlooked. From the Egyptian cotton linen to the immaculate décor, you’ll be thoroughly spoiled at every turn. The romantic Master bedroom offers sensational views from your pillow, while kids will adore the pair of ingenious bunk beds in the living area – complete with porthole windows.

A further surprise waits behind a sliding door – a magnificent bathroom with a luxurious free-standing copper bath. Big enough for two, relax among bubbles to see the horizon come into view through the low-level picture window. Or, for a truly natural experience, open out the bathroom wall and bathe in the open air!

For larger groups searching for an experience under canvas (without leaving the luxuries behind), four safari tents – Bovey, Dart,Tamar and Yealm – are waiting in a two-acre, buttercup-filled field. Sleeping six apiece, each features two bedrooms (a king and a twin) as well as a charming cabin- bed hidden away in the spacious living area. With a fully fitted kitchen area (including a fridge and induction hob) and luxurious shower room, these tents break all preconceptions of camping – you can even recharge your phone as there are electric sockets next to the bed!

Outside, a huge deck, complete with Adirondack chairs, is the perfect place to relax back with a book, enjoy your favourite tipple or simply snooze in the warm Devon sunshine. And if you stay in Bovey, Tamar or Yealm, you can even arrange for a wood-fired hot tub to be set up outside your tent throughout your stay. You can also guarantee perfect privacy with 30 metres between each tent – but you’re still close enough to meet the neighbours if you wish!

Finally, the Tabernacle offers a cute and cosy corrugated sanctuary for two. Built from salvaged materials and based on the ‘tin tabernacles’ used by Methodist preachers in days gone by, you’ll be swept away by its charming design – including stained glass windows and a little bell tower on top.

What the guests of Brownscombe Luxury Glamping say

“Thank you so much for everything. My boyfriend planned this trip as a complete surprise for our anniversary, so I had no idea what to expect. I can honestly say he chose somewhere better than I could imagine. This place is truly magical and every second has been so special. The Tabernacle is so beautifully decorated and being out amongst the sheep is worlds apart from London life. I slept like a baby in the cosy bed. Hope to see you again.”

“THANK YOU KATE! We had the most wonderful time; 20 hens with all the space you could wish for to play, chill, laugh and bond. It was a really special weekend. For anyone planning a hen (or family holiday!) I cannot recommend Brownscombe highly enough – Kate was the perfect host and shared in our excitement, nothing was too much trouble, and her help was invaluable in pulling off our ideas to show the Bride to Be the perfect weekend. Thanks so much.”

“Another fabulous break supplied by the wonderful Kate. Such a great host and amazing accommodation. The attention to detail is superb. Some great ideas for luxury to take home. The meals are great and more than generous. My 14 year olds are already talking about next year and I feel would never tire of this lovely, relaxing place. Such a lovely setting.”
